Description

The Husqvarna 115H 4G Robotic Lawn Mower features ultra-quiet, smart-mowing technology from the world leader in robotic mowing(1) to help you effortlessly achieve a beautifully cut lawn with easy control from your smart device. Perfect for small to medium lawns, this electric mower can mow up to 0.4 acre, cover 720 square feet in one hour, and run 60 minutes on a single charge. The patented guidance system automatically returns the battery powered lawn mower to its charging station when the battery is low. With its seamless connectivity, you can control the robot lawn mower from your smartphone with the Automower Connect app. The three razor-sharp blades on this automatic lawn mower cut less grass more frequently for a beautifully maintained lawn. The electric lawn mower also features an adjustable cutting system for cut heights of 2 to 3.6 inches to suit taller grasses. Collision and lift sensors stop the blades instantly when the mower is lifted, keeping children and pets safe. To reduce the risk of theft, Husqvarna robotic lawn mowers use a built-in alarm system that sounds if they are lifted. Frequently asked questions

The Husqvarna Automower 115H is a first-generation robotic lawn mower that comes with Connect technology, making it capable of smart home integration. This makes it possible for users to control and monitor the device remotely using the Automower Connect app.

The 115H is ideal for smaller and flatter lawns. It is capable of handling lawns up to 0.4 acres and can manage slopes up to 17 degrees. It may struggle with larger or more complex lawns due to its motor power and wheel design.

Yes, it comes with several safety features. If the mower is lifted or tilts, it automatically shuts off. It also has a PIN code activation for theft prevention. It's also built to handle rain and harsh weather, but it's recommended to bring it in during extreme weather to extend its lifespan.

The 115H operates on an electric motor, removing the need for gas or oil changes that comes with traditional lawn mowers. It also works quietly, reducing noise pollution. As it's a mulching mower, it fertilizes your lawn with grass clippings, reducing waste and promoting a healthier lawn.

πŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The automower mentioned in the reviews seems to be appreciated by both reviewers despite different lawn conditions. Monica's review outlines how her automower, named Tiny, overcame various landscaping challenges, while Commander K underscores the great performance over several weeks but criticizes the lengthy installation process.

Pros

  • 🌱 Effectively manages different lawn conditions and terrains.
  • πŸš€ Requires minimal supervision once properly installed and set.
  • πŸ•“ Mows long hours, thereby keeping the lawn consistently cut.
  • πŸ”‡ Operates silently, hence does not disturb regular home activities.

Cons

  • ❗ The installation process can be lengthy and requires careful measurement.
  • πŸ•³οΈ The boundary wires might break and need repair or replacement.
  • πŸ”‘ The pin-code process to start the mower can be irksome as there is no keypad.

Should I Buy It?

Despite the need for a comprehensive installation process and potential wire breakages, the benefits of the automower, including its efficiency, durability, and low noise production, make it a worthwhile purchase. If you are prepared for some initial setup and potential maintenance, the benefits, in the long run, are substantial.

  • Great simple lawn robot but a lot of work to install
Connectivity Technology: 4G W/ Connect App
The media could not be loaded. TLDR: Has worked well for 3 weeks now, but took much longer than the manual said to install, and expect the wire to break at some point and buy a toner to fix it. ---The Lawn--- I bought this robot for mowing my relatively flat lawn, which is approximately 0.3 - 0.35 acres of grass. It consists of 3 areas separated by 5 foot wide passageways, with several islands of landscaping and trees. The outer perimeter was estimated at 1100 ft including all of the islands. The grass is a New England mix of tall grasses, weeds, moss, and clover, recently dethatched and airated. ---The Installation--- The manual says that installation only takes 2 to 5 hours to install, but that was absolutely a lie for my lawn. Maybe if you have a small rectangular lawns with no trees or beds that you need to outline with an island of boundary wire, but for my lawn it took more like 15 hours. I chose to not bury my boundary or guide wires as I figured I would need to readjust them (which I did). Most of the time was spent measure the distance from obstacles and pegging the wire into the ground. I bought additional wire and pegs before beginning and I am glad I did because although I could complete the outline of boundary wire for my lawn, I only had 10 feet left for the guide wire. I also used a peg every 1-3 feet to keep the wire from poppin up, so ordered an additional 500 pegs. I would highly recommend outlining your area one google maps and then multiplying that result by 1.3 and making sure you have that much wire. Other than the time spent installation is very simple and the instructions are through. ---The Robot Configuration--- For my lawn which is on the upper limits of the capabilities of this robot I have it set to run 20 hours a day. This ends up being around 12 hours of mowing. I also configured work areas that allow it to cover all of the space. These actually work better than I expected as it's fairly consistent following the guide wire out, and although it only has 3 work areas, whatever percentage of the time not included in the work area configuration it just starts mowing near the charger like a fourth work area. ---The issues--- In the first week I got 3 alerts from the bot that it had been lifted, what had actually happened was it found slopes or holes at the sides of the lawn where it got stuck. I just moved the boundary wire out a little bit or filled in the hole. I also had the wire break a couple of days ago. I was able to fix this in method outlined below. ---Finding and fixing a broken boundary wire--- The biggest drawback to a robot like this is the boundary wire can get cut, and although mines only been running for 3 weeks my wire already was cut. To troubleshoot this I highly recommend getting a multimeter and a toner (I used this one because it is cheap https://a.co/d/h7ZeU3q). I unplugged the boundary and guide wires from the charger and used to multimeter on continuity mode to figure out which wire section had the break, in this case it was the right boundary wire. Then I attached the toner using the alligator leads to the broken wire and a long drill bit I screwed into the ground. One can then use the toner receiver to follow the wire and listen for when the beeping toner signal stops. I had to lift the wire up from the ground slightly to hear the signal as I went a long. After about 5 minutes of walking out from the charger along the wire I found spot where the signal stopped and working backwards from there I found the broken wire. I could not have done it without the toner as visually the wire looked perfectly fine, I needed to pick it up and look at the underside to see a creature had bit it in half. Once I found the break I used one of the extra wire connectors to fix it and the bot was back up in 15 minutes. Without the toner I don't know if I would have ever fixed it. ---Why I didn't get a RTK GPS bot--- There are new bots coming out now that don't require the boundary wire and use GPS but I didn't get one for three reasons. 1. They are really expensive 2. I have a lot of tree coverage and I don't want it to lose gps and drive into the road or into my pond. 3. They don't have the track record that these old fashioned automowers do. ---Results and Conclusion--- Overall I am very happy with this mower, my lawn is consistently cut and over its near 200 hours of mowing I've only had 4 problems, 3 of which were just setup issues. It cuts the lawn to the perfect height and is pretty much silent (see the video) so it can run day and night. As long as you understand the limitations and work required in setting it up I would definitely recommend it. It's wonderful to relax in the backyard with a drink and watch my lawn work get done for me. ... show more

  • Not worth buying
Connectivity Technology: 4G W/ Connect App
UPDATED with more details and info (June 7, 2023) I had high hopes for the Husqvarna 115H when I bought it about a month ago. Sadly, I returned it after trying very hard to get little "Husky" to work out for me. This is not my first rodeo. I have been using robot lawnmowers exclusively since 2006 when I said a final goodbye to gasoline powered mowers. I'm not going back! During the past 17 years I have owned 3 different robot mowers ("Pepe", "Jose" and "Juan") all made by Friendly Robotics). By coincidence, I have also successfully installed boundary wires at 3 different homes during that time. All 3 homes had level yards under 3000 sq ft. My lawns were all Bermuda grass, and I did not plant winter grass, so the lawns here in Phoenix were dormant for 4-5 months of the year. During the growing season, I mowed them weekly with 2-hour sessions of the robotic mowers. Since these Robomowers had 19 inch cutting paths (twice the width of the 115H) and mowed backwards and forwards (didn't need to turn around), 2 hours of mowing a week kept my lawns looking neat. Their sealed lead-acid batteries typically lasted for only 2 or 3 years, but were relatively cheap ($70) and were not difficult to replace. My 3 previous robot mowers did not have a docking station, so they all required me to manually position them in the mowing area using a wired hand controller. I then pressed a START button to set them to mowing. After the mowing was complete, I had to drive them back to my garage and plug them into a charger. So, when my last RL-800 mower failed (after a good 10 year run), I was ready to try a model that would dock and charge itself on a pre-set schedule, hoping to automate even this modest chore. After reading a lot of reviews and specifications, I decided to try the Husqvarna 115H as a low-cost solution. My current lawn is a level 2000 sq ft (0.05 acre) roughly rectangular plot with no included obstacles other than a single small tree with no protruding roots. Easy-peasy, right? The 115H is rated for 0.4 acres, so it should be no problem. Husqvarna is a well-respected brand and Amazon could deliver it overnight. All good, right? I'm a retired engineer. Manuals and instructions are enjoyable reads for me. I read them and also watched the setup videos, and signed up for the Facebook and Reddit forums to learn from others. This mower was going to be just what I was looking for, I hoped. Wrong! Since setting it up, I’ve experienced non-stop problems requiring almost daily interventions. The model 115H is seriously overrated with a claimed 0.4 acres (17,424 sq ft) of coverage. For my modest little 2000 sq ft lawn (0.05 acres) the schedule setup wizard recommended 4 hours daily . Going by that, to mow a 0.4 acre lawn, the mower would have to be scheduled to be mowing and charging 24/7, with about 10 charging and mowing cycles each day. Maybe this little unit is designed for many thousands of mowing and recharge cycles before it wears out. I certainly hope so, but I'm skeptical. However, I never got a chance to test the unit's longetivity, because the major problem is that my mower’s self docking system is too erratic. Yes, I'm confident that the boundary wire and guide wire were properly set up. The problem is that the mower seldom docks properly more than 3 times in a row. Even when it does dock, it sometimes fails to charge. I fiddled with the docking system's location, trying many different setups, but could never get it to dock and charge reliably. So, this unit is just too much trouble to use, requiring almost daily attention. So, I'm rating it one star. Maybe I just got a bad unit? I don't know. Before sending this unit back I really tried hard the last few days to give it a fair trial, as I did not want to have to send it back. On the contrary, I really wanted to get it working. I sought help from the Facebook group, and from a Reddit forum. After all I could do, I actually got it to run without supervision for four cycles of charging and mowing (two days). Then on the 5th cycle, when it docked to recharge (with 35% charge remaining), the app indicated it was parked, but once again it never started charging. As I watched the battery charge shown on the app slowly drop a percent or two every hour (rather than increase) on this charge cycle, I was sad. Yes, I know I could have gone out and repositioned the mower, recyled power, reinitalized the setup, or done whatever to get it going again. But it's not acceptable to have to do this on an almost daily basis. Besides, I travel out of town for a number of weeks each year, and after trying to teach my wife how to fiddle with it when it needed attention, she wanted NOTHING to do with it! Goodbye Husky! I'm very sad you were so starved for attention. Before carefully packing it up and sending it back, I spent several hours cleaning and polishing this little guy, returning it as close to new as I could. I even included some additional stakes and wire couplers in the box to make up for the ones that I used up. To its credit, Amazon has given me a full refund. I've reacted to that good news by ordering from Amazon a GPS RTK enabled MAMMOTION Luba AWD 1000 unit that needs no boundary wire as my next mowing companion. Is this $2000 expenditure (after taxes) overkill for a 2000 sq ft yard? Probably yes, but I'm an engineer, so I love gadgets. I sure hope that "Lucy" works out better than "Husky" did. ... show more
