This is the best riding mower, and my experience has been absolutely fantastic. I started mowing my lawn (2.5 acres) to involve my kids, helping at home. I love how safe it is and reliable. Easy to clean, and the best part will be maintenance, minimum and very easy. The delivery was on time. Ego uses FedEx Freight Direct, to deliver the massive steel crate. The steel crate is kind of a pain to get rid of, but I am almost done breaking it into pieces that fit in my recycle bin. The charging cable came faulty, but Ego customer service helped me to register all my equipment and sent me a new replacement immediately. The process of installing the seat is quite straightforward, but I highly recommend reading the manual to prevent scratching the top of the mower beneath the seat. I didn’t read it and ended up making two significant scratches. While it’s not a major issue, I wish I had taken the time to read that section, it takes less than a minute. The charger is the best part, super fast, as well as the 6ah batteries. You can share all with other Ego products. I purchased also a walk-behind mower and the string trimmer. ... show more

This is the latest edition to my EGO collection of yard tools. I was hesitant due to the extra cost compared to traditional gas powered mowers, but as I researched, I realized that there is very little maintenance on these compared to gas. The battery life described in the product description "Up to 1.5 acres cutting time" is a bit misleading, and I can confirm this to be true. The tractor comes with (6) 6-amp batteries, but can use (6) 12-amp ones if you have them or want to purchase them separately which is a huge cost for a typical consumer. My yard is on a small slope and is roughly just over a half-acre and when I finish it is at about 30% charge remaining. I have tried different blade speeds and drive speeds, and I end with about the same charge each time. The difference is minimal, which can also be due to wet grass, or less thick of a cut. Care of the batteries is very important, and it is a bit of a chore to carry them all from the barn to the house to ensure they aren't damaged by moisture or colder temperatures. I wish there was an easier way to transport them, or a housing I could use to keep them in the barn without worrying about them not being protected. Charging is very easy, as this tractor comes with a charging pack and adapter to charge directly in the tractor without removing the batteries. You can also charge them individually with other EGO chargers from other equipment. The cut quality of this tractor is good, and the blade height control is very simple. One thing I do wish is that the blades do not run in reverse unless you hold down the reverse blade button for 5+ seconds. This resets if you get off the tractor for anything then you need to do it again, which is one of the safety features of the tractor. It cuts off when you get up from the seat. This is no zero turn, but it does turn pretty well. It took some getting used to my first time using it, but I have since figured out better patterns and routes to use to make my yard look great with this tractor. It's been a month and 4 or 5 cuts and so far I have enjoyed this lawn tractor. One last thing I want to add, is that the included quick-connect hose attachment to clean the deck makes cleanup after cutting a simple 2 minute task. I wanted to get a mower with this option, and I'm glad that came with that! The delivery of this tractor was amazing. One of the reasons I decided to purchase, is because SHIPPING WAS FREE with Amazon Prime! Other vendors wanted anywhere from $200-$400 to cover freight charges. So purchasing here on Amazon was the best option to save some money. Disassembly of the delivery cage and assembly of the tractor took a couple hours, but it was package extremely well. Be sure to take off the parking brake before trying to roll it off the crate. We'll see how this holds up over time, but for now, I am satisfied with this tractor and it fits my needs. ... show more

Super efficient and quiet. Cuts beautifully and turns on a dime. Cuts way better than EGO's 21 inch self-propelled push mower. No clumping at all. Sure, a little pricey but worth it to me. Though I only mow 1/3 acre, our rough yard made walking behind a mower quite punishing on my aging knees. Now mowing is a breeze and also pretty fun. ... show more

    • Blade motor can shut down

I have one acre, 3/4 of it is mowed. It's a bit rough, not a flat surface. The grass is a bit thick and wet in the spring. My 22hp Husqvarna cuts through all this well. I just switched to electric because my tractor has other issues and after watching all the you tube videos, I decided to go electric, and specifically this model. I received it on good order, took about an hour to unpack and a couple hours to charge. I mowed my front lawn using the mulching plug. It looked great. The battery dropped by about 10%. The back yard is the big area. I set the height about 3 notches from the top. It mowed very well. When done I was down to 49%. My 2nd mow a week later, I lowered the deck further down, still with the plug. The blades shut off on my 3 times. I had to turn off the mower and restart to reset the tripping mechanism. I ended up raising the deck up a couple notches and it was fine. While I got a good mow, I didn't like the fact the blade motors shut off. Bog down? Perhaps, but not shut off. They are brushless motors so you won't get burn marks on the armature. I think too much grass clippings are bulked up with no chance of escape so it bogs down the motor enough to shut it off. I never saw this happen not was it discussed in any video. When I was done mowing, my battery was down to 29%. Cleaning underneath used a garden hose adapter. I've never cared for this method and prefer to remove the deck. While this one is easier than my Husqvarna, it's harder than it needs to be. John Deere got it right. So I'm kinda on the fence with being satisfied. It's quiet and steers great. No gas.. if it didn't shut off on me I may have given it a 5 star rating. ... show more

I love my new Ego zero turn mower. I've had riding mowers in the past, both cab style and zero turn, but This Ego mower makes mowing fun and easy. No gas. No clogged fuel lines. No dirty spark plugs. No wrenching my shoulder pulling a starter cord. The batteries (4 in mine) charge in just over an hour. When I'm ready to mow I get on, insert the key, press the power button and start mowing. You can select if you need more control and slow it down, or put it in 'sport' mode and mow fast. I appreciate the quick-connect for a hose to wash the deck after mowing too. Delivery was so professional. The mower was packed securely. Instructions for assembly were easy enough for a 67 y.o. woman to do alone. ... show more
