  • Wonderful Tool
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
This is coming from someone who has never enjoyed lawn care, but this ego zero turn 42 inch lawn mower, I'm having a tremendous amount of fun with! It does a great job cutting the lawn, I'm enjoying using it twice a week and it's incredibly fast and easy to do my yard. The machine charges all the batteries rapidly, and it can go to from a zero to full charge in under 2 hours. So far everything on the machine has been very easy to use, I'm getting compliments from people in my neighborhood on how the grass looks and more importantly I'm enjoying it. The only negative I have on this machine is the overall price of it as it is an expensive upfront cost, but not having to do any maintenance as of right now is a great payoff. Also the batteries will be able to be used with other ego pieces of equipment and I plan on purchasing the snow blower later this year where the batteries from the lawn mower will work in the snow blower. Again very happy with the overall performance and ease of use. Anyone who has the funds to make this type of investment, I think we'll be happy. ... show more

  • Great mower
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
Super efficient and quiet. Cuts beautifully and turns on a dime. Cuts way better than EGO's 21 inch self-propelled push mower. No clumping at all. Sure, a little pricey but worth it to me. Though I only mow 1/3 acre, our rough yard made walking behind a mower quite punishing on my aging knees. Now mowing is a breeze and also pretty fun. ... show more

  • Excellent investment Excellent investment
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
I love my new Ego zero turn mower. I've had riding mowers in the past, both cab style and zero turn, but This Ego mower makes mowing fun and easy. No gas. No clogged fuel lines. No dirty spark plugs. No wrenching my shoulder pulling a starter cord. The batteries (4 in mine) charge in just over an hour. When I'm ready to mow I get on, insert the key, press the power button and start mowing. You can select if you need more control and slow it down, or put it in 'sport' mode and mow fast. I appreciate the quick-connect for a hose to wash the deck after mowing too. Delivery was so professional. The mower was packed securely. Instructions for assembly were easy enough for a 67 y.o. woman to do alone. ... show more

  • So Far so Good w the Unit- Somehow Survived the Delivery!
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
Bought this unit mainly for mulching my 4 acres w tons of leaves ( I have a robot that handles most of the mowing ) - works well w the basic plug addition, just be sure to wear a mask! Got a great price at end of mowing season - big plus! Negative : shipping. Tho I told the shipping company my situation they sent one older guy w no special quipment to move it from the main road down my drive about 100 yards to where I needed it delivered. I had large shipments before here- easily done if the huge truck has a simple fork lift- this shipment did not. Took several hours. Hard hours. I had to saw some overhead branches so the huge truck could somehow get down my sloped gravel driveway some.. Then we both had to manhandle it to get it as close as we could to where I needed it. Unit itself is great so far, but they really skimped on the shipping and delivery puting both of us in jeapordy of injury- but we somehow managed. Good item,, great price, bad shipping and delivery. ... show more

  • My first electric ZTR mower.
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
I’ve received, unpacked and and assembled a new EGO 42” riding mower. I have to say now, after a few hours use, it has exceeded my expectations! First, it was delivered on a steel, roll-off pallet huddled in a steel frame with mower covered with visqueen plastic sheeting. Very impressive. The frame was easily disassembled using only a ½ (13mm) socket and an electric impact driver. Works easiest with a second person with ½” box end wrench to hold the other end of the bolts, Remove a couple of hold down straps over the rear wheels (One ½” bold on each side). Remove pair of wheel chocks on the front wheels, release the parking brake and an easy roll off onto the ground. Assembly is also a breeze. Tools are included. Just mount and align the steering bars and install the seat. Remove the batteries from the cardboard boxes and drop the batteries into the mower. Now that you’ve accomplished all this, open and read the instructions, They are well written with very good illustrations. There are a lot of pages and it will take a while to go through all of the materials. You can do all of this while the batteries are charging. I am replacing my old (10 Y.O.) Toro 42” time cutter. (15 gallons of gasoline per season). Now after one hour of operating this new EGO, I am amazed how easy it was for me to transition from the Toro. It is a short learning curve to understand the switch functions and LED display. Cutting the grass is as good, if not better than the Toro. Blade speed is adjustable and at the lower setting it still cuts well enough and the machine is whisper quiet, I have about ¾ acre to mow and it did it easily with the 4 supplied batteries. Air temperature in the low 70’s. Now for my complaint: The mower deck height adjustment works fine but the cut depth indicator numbers are in a place that is hard to see. I can’t see the numbers while I am seated. It’s an easy fix for the factory. Again, a very well engineered machine with an excellent instruction set. I’m happy. ... show more

  • Very satisfied
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
So far, I’m very happy with the mower. There was some minor assembly required, but it was easy and quick. I’ve cut my grass with a couple times now and it has been a major upgrade in mow quality from my old riding mower. It’s very easy to use and to set up, not to mention that it has quite a bit zip to it. Battery life easily covered our half acre yard. It’s silent when the blades aren’t engaged and sounds like a large industrial fan when they are, significantly quicker than any mower I’ve used before. ... show more

  • This machine definately has it's limitations
Style: 42" Zero-Turn w/(4) 10.0Ah Batteries
I have owned my 42" EGO mower for only a short time and have been mowing with it in a variety of different conditions. Initially, you will find that nearly all of the visible parts of this machine are plastic. It will take time to see if the plastic is durable. My initial reaction is that the controls are twitchy and harder to master than expected. Adjustment of the factory settings has made the machine more controllable than it was initially. One thing is certain and disappointing ~ this machine can easily get out of control on even the mildest of side slopes. If it gets itself turned down slope it is not capable of backing up. If it has taken you into the rough it may prove very hard to get it back on course. Backing power is lacking and the tires spin on grass. If using the edge of the 42" cutter enclosure to dictate your position along a tight edge you may find as I have that the wider machine's body beyond catches on things like fence posts of corners of buildings. On a flat, open lawn the machine works well but is limited by less battery life at full charge than claimed. It is comfortable and easy to maintain. If I had had the opportunity to use this mower on my property before the purchase I likely would not have purchased it. ... show more
