The YARDMAX 22" 3-in-1 front wheel drive (FWD) Self Propelled Lawn Mower will make cutting your lawn quick and easy with its high performance 201cc OHV YARDMAX engine with automatic choke system for an easy start, no priming or choking is required. The YG2860 features exclusive and industry leading continuously variable transmission (CVT) offering superior speed variability to keep the mowing at a suitable and a comfortable pace, adapting to your walking speed. The high-rear-wheels are perfect for uneven terrain and are equipped with double ball bearings and exclusive aggressive spiked tread rubber tires for an increased traction and maneuverability. This mower offers seven cutting heights, from 1.38" to 3.55” allowing you to cut your lawn to your specifications by using a single convenient lever. The MaxFlow volute deck is designed to keep grass clippings airborne longer for superior mulching, or for flowing into the rear bag when needed. Convenient deck washout port allows you to clean the deck's underside quickly and easily, simply attach a hose to the port and let the water flush out the dirt so you're ready for your next mow. Space saver, the entire mower can be compactly folded for storing in small garage spaces. Fully assembled, just unfold the handle and you’re ready to go.     • Front wheel drive? REALLY?
This is a big, powerful mower. I bought it hoping it would cut my grass better than the electric mower I was using. This thing is heavy! It says in the description that it weights 84 pounds, and by the time you get grass in the bag you're pushing 90. When I say pushing I really mean wrestling. I thought it would be ok because the reviews said it had a strong self-propel drive. It does. That's part of the problem. There are several problems with this mower. One is that the grass bag is too wide to fit easily between the handles, and it's extremely awkward to put on and take off. But by far the biggest issue with this mower is the front wheel drive propel feature. One problem is with the speed lever. It says it has 6 speeds, but the lever won't stay where you put it because the tension of the cable is too tight, so you end up with it either on the slowest speed or the fastest. In theory, I guess someone thought front wheel drive would be cool, but in reality, it's a terrible idea. I don't know about you, but when I turn my mower in tight spaces, I push down on the handle bar and raise the front end, letting the rear wheel drive help turn the mower. With this mower, when you do that, the front wheel drive is completely useless, meaning you're wrestling this huge 85 pound mower to turn it. In addition, because the drive is very powerful, if the grass is wet at all, you loose traction and the tires just spin. Traction is very poor because the front wheel drive does not have sufficient weight on the tires. All in all, this mower is a ton of work! It's a workout to mow the lawn with it. I wish I hadn't bought it. But since it's non-returnable, I'm stuck with it. I would not recommend it. I guess I'll be going back to my electric... ... show more

    • FWD doesn't help much.
I was disappointed with the FWD. The FWD doesn't pull the mower as well as I expected most likely because of the weight of the mower and the small front wheels. You end up pushing the mower especially if the grass is high.

Literally this mower is better than the top brands at local stores. It shipped to my door and was nearby effortless to get going. The handle folds down turning the mower into a compact machine to easily store under a workbench or in a shed. The price is unbeatable especially considering the quality which is high.     • Finally a mower that's easier
I really love this Mower. Assembly was so easy it was like it assembled itself. I am 78 yrs. old and usually have a hard time starting a mower but this one was as easy as walking. Changing wheel height, cleaning the under deck, and everything else is fast and convenient. I can`t say too much good things about this mower. It was very nice of them to add oil and funnel to the box. the only thing bad I can say is I had to go buy two(2) wing nuts because there were on Wing Knobs in the package. ... show more

Have used this mower twice started great no issues at all . Going to start it the third time pull string snaps down in by the recoil spring( very cheap rope) . Take apart to to replace rope and the recoil spring is mangled inside of the housing . The plate that hold the everything together has backed off on the inside allowing the starting/kicker arms to fall out as well as the recoil spring. Now you have to pull extremely hard to get the starting kicker arms to catch so you can start the mower . It definitely is now a one pull start mower anymore and it has maybe an hour of use. Once running it does work good the self propelled is nice at the different speeds . ... show more
