    • Very labor intensive
Requires constant repair. Drive belt comes off at least 3 times a season and is a several hour job to put it back on. Repair is so physically demanding that I would rather have bought a push mower.

    • Does the job but with issues
The biggest issue I have will this mower is the grass-cutting height adjustment. That adjustment handle is located right beside the right rear wheel and when you change to the highest setting, that handle rubs that wheel. And it isn't a light rub, but it rubs strong enough you can feel it when you try to back the mower up. I bent that handle inwards towards the center of the machine and it stopped the rubbing at lower heights but starts to rub as you to the higher adjustments. And, that adjustment is only on the rear wheels. The front wheels have no adjustment ability. Other than that, the unit starts on the first pull. With that said, if you read the manual, it says to pull the starter cord a couple of times until you meet resistance before attempting to do the start pull. I think, in that way, you are priming the system which gives you that 1 pull starting. It works so far so why not do it? Now this "priming" only needs to be done on a cold start. If you stop the mower and start it up a few minutes later, it starts on 1 pull. The engine is strong and the front-wheel drive pulls it around very easily. There is only 1 motor rpm setting but it doesn't seem to be too fast or taxing the mower in any way. The walking speed is adjustable and works well for me. I have arthritis in my right hip and cannot move very fast and this mower moves along just right. Other than that height adjustment problem, it is a good mower. I will be fixing that handle by removing some of the manufacturer's sharp bends and once that is done, the handle should not rub the back tire. ... show more

I've had 0 issues with this mower. Easy to start and easy to use. I think its like any product-some are good some are bad. Based on the one I got i would absolutely recommend this mower.

Bought it 9 months ago and it has worked fine. Thus morning it lost drive while mowing. Had to finish up pushing it. BTW these do NOT push well. Opened it up to see what happened. Apparently the front tension roller (no part number found) disintegrated. I can replace it if I can find the part. Please advise. ETA; 11Sep24. Called customer support, they are sending out replacement parts. During call I had to register mower but it only took a minute or two during the call. The call was easy enough and the gal I talked to was very helpful. Will update again when I get the parts. Update. I called yardmax the day after I wrote this. They were easy to deal with. I had to register but we did that over the phone. Name address when I bought it, simple stuff. The sent the parts out the next day and I received them this morning. Installing them took just a couple minutes and it works again. See other reviews here and how my call was handled I believe they are well aware the roller assembly is problematic. No idea if the one I got has been updated or if it will last just long enough to get me through warranty time. ... show more
