  • Nice little saw!!
Wow what a nice little saw! I am a part time park warden taking care of two thousand acres of open space land. when I have to walk in a mile to cut a downed limb or a small tree this is the saw I take with me. Its light and easy to carry. starts perfect every time. Its very dependable and has plenty of power for a little saw. Made in Sweden better quality than the made in China echo. ... show more

  • Simply Awesome!!
I already owned a 455 Rancher and although it is an incredible heavy duty chainsaw ideal for big jobs, it is heavy for extended use. Like limbing cedar trees to turn them into fence posts. The T435 ROCKS for this. It is very light but has plenty of power to rip through limbs and small to medium (up to 14 inches) trunks. It also starts very easy. I can limb trees with this all day long where I used to be worn out after an hour or two using my 455 to do the same thing ... show more

  • Lightweight champ!
This little beast makes short work of small tree limbs in fencerows and earns its keep! I put it to work the day after it arrived on my doorstep. A bit thirsty on fuel at first, but this has tempered off as it's broken in. This is my third Husqvarna saw. Keep the chain tensioned correctly and sharp, and it will do well for you .The clamshell filter cover looks a bit flimsy, but has held up OK. the 7 lbs make it easy to drag through the woods. I originally was after a 6.5 lb Echo CS271 (1 lb less weight, but also less powerful) , but no one around here(dealer or Home Depot) would order it, even when I'm standing there with cash in my hand. Crazy, eh? Anyway, I think this has turned out to be a better choice after all. ... show more

  • Worth it.
I do not work commercially as an arborist, however I put this saw through some pretty heavy work. I use it in a bucket truck and while climbing and also to cut fire wood. It works very good for me. My only complaint is the bar oiler seems to loosen up often even after many adjustments and cleaning. Its a great saw for its intended purposes. I don't suggest anyone who is not familiar with top handle saws to buy a top handle. If you do not know their purpose do not buy one. ... show more

  • Love it!
I love this thing! I have a 20" Husky Rancher that is great for big jobs, but heavy for limbing a downed tree. Although there are probably plenty of 60 yr olds out there who could run the Rancher all day, I'm not one of them. We live on 7 ac and have a dozen large dead ash trees (Emerald Ash Borer) as well as others that constantly need processing. I'm definitely not a commercial user, but likely saw allot more trees than the average homeowner. So it was worth it to buy something better than big box store Poulans or Craftsman. Not that there is anything wrong with those for somewhat lighter use, but neither of my Poulans (20", 16") are built like the Husky's or are as easy to maintain; the chains on both of mine have to be tightened regularly during even moderate use. Think about it, how many branches from a downed tree require a 20" or even 16" saw to process? The 12" T435 is light and can be used one-handed (not recommended for safety reasons!) for limbing off the small stuff. I use it WAY more than the Rancher. My 30 yr old manly-man son was like, "That's okay, I'll use the 20"; until we were at it all day limbing and also cutting smaller trunks sections and large branches to 16" pieces to split for firewood. He converted to my way of thinking. Chain tension adjustment is also a breeze. Handy loop to carry by tool belt is nice if your are climbing. Its all good as far as I'm concerned. ... show more

  • Godsend for TSI, firebreaks, and covering lots of ground.
I own just under 400 acres about 130 acres of mature timber and another 70 of brush. It had been neglected for a long time and the timber was high graded a few times. I am currently in the process of a doing TSI (timber stand improvement) on the property and some other work for an EQHIP contract. I also am constantly cutting firebreaks. I bought this saw as I wanted something light for girdling larger problem trees like honey locust and I didn't want to carry a big saw deep in the woods. In over a year and a half of use, it has now become my favorite saw. (I own 5 chainsaws including some high end Stihls). I cut a quarte mile of firebreaks, yesterday, through my woods. Much of in in pole sized eastern red cedar and it absolutely murdered them. Limbing is also much less tiring. I can pack in oil, gas, and water to a central location off the trail and do everything I need to do without limiting myself to an area I can get my UTV or tractor into. One super unique feature I have found is that the gas almost always last about 3/4 load of bar chain oil. I worked (in the shade) in 85 degree heat all day. I would go through a tank, fill up on gas and oil and drink a quart of water and went back to work. Disclaimer: this saw is NOT for bucking large logs for firewood or dropping large trees. That's why the big boys are still in my truck. IF you can find this. Buy it ... show more

  • Oiler dead on arrival
Oiler never worked because the oiler worm gear is made from plastic and was already cross threaded thereby losing the ability to turn the oiler worm drive. Checking everywhere, the part is no where to be found. Husqvarna doesn't have the part either and recommends calling around to service centers and see if they have any in stock. I did that and upon asking was advised that the service center is actually stopping to carry all Husqvarna equipment because quality control as taken a nose dive and the company is nowhere to be found to resolve the issues with their equipment. In short, seemed like a nice little saw from a reputable brand. However, it looks like the brand is in fact NOT reputable anymore. Hope this helps someone who may be considering this saw or other Husqvarna tools. ... show more
