  • Easy to Set Up
Style: 5SE16A
Completely set up in about 15 minutes. No need for tech support so I'm not sure how helpful they are, but I've had it for about a month now and it prints great every time. I haven't tried to print on photo paper yet, but a color print on regular paper as well as cardstock works perfectly. Also, we bought it refurbished and it DID come with ink to complete setup. ... show more

  • Great printer!
Style: 5SE16A
A great printer overall, i’ve printed over 300 pages and have only had one jam (I believe it was my fault ). It’s super easy to use and the app alerts you of low ink, jams, and even allows you to order ink at a cheaper rate through them.

  • Disappointed - zero stars
Style: 5SE16A
Update: 2023 June Every time I try to use this printer, I get more frustrated!!! I have not been able to turn the printer on and print anything right away. I have to go through so many steps to print anything if it even allows me to print!!! It doesn't stay connected or won't communicate with my computer. The app on the computer sucks and the app on the phone......I have to sign in to it every time I open the app!!! Why do I need to sign in!!!!! 2023 March. I have had this printer for a little over a year now. I do not use it everyday. I haven't used it that often in the past year. In the past two weeks I have printed less than 100 pages. Prior to the printing in the last two weeks, I have had to replace the color and the black ink. And before I started using it in the past two weeks, I had to replace the black again!!!! Now that I have printed less than 100 pages on the brand new ink, its time to get a new ink cartridge again!!!!! And they cost $25 (around/about)!!!!! I put this cartridge in the printer 4 days ago!!!! The app, and the computer app gets a 3 star. Its so frustrating!!!!!! ... show more

  • Minimalistic, good for some, not so good for others
Style: 5SE16A
Let’s see, where to start. It’s about as basic as it comes. Letter size scanner, 100ct paper capacity. And it’s white. No display, no visible buttons ( more on that in a minute), no photo printing, paper tray only holds one size. Did I mention it’s white? There actually are three buttons and a Wi-Fi connection light. The other buttons light up when you need them. Nifty. The scanner is surprisingly speedy, faster than my prior piece. That stands to reason, it’s pretty much geared for scanned documents, not 26,000mp photos. Nice touch. Printing is a bit above average, but don’t expect to print out 100 page docs in a hurry. It’s also true duplex, but I haven’t tried it yet. Software I can’t really say much. My HP blew a gasket right after I installed the stuff. Replaced it with a MacBook Pro. I’ve had to do so much software cross-grades and new upgrades ( I have a small “studio”, so there were a bunch of changes. Printer is at the bottom of the bucket list). Since it’s so simple, it can be low profile, you can put it just about anywhere with little fuss. It’s also very solid. Since it’s mostly quality plastic and well laid out design, it has a quality feel you don’t get from other pieces. One con, and I forgot about it since my last three Epsons- tiny, expensive ink cartridges. They’re about half the size of other brands. That’s a known issue, really. Real con: the paper output tray. There’s the usual pull-out tray, but it’s only a few inches wide. Printed sheets just slide sideways onto your desk or floor. The “envy” stuff? Fancy soft colored “mood lights” that really don’t do much. It’s nice to have if you work in a dark environment. I’m sure there’s a reason for them, but I haven’t found out what yet. That’s all she printed, boys and gurls. If you want basic and under$100, you can’t really go wrong. For the fancier craftwork, you’ll need to spend more. Read this, and think a bit before pressing the buy now button. No punches held back. You might find yourself wanting better speed, multiple paper sizes, vacation pics primed off your cam’s memory card. This isn’t the beastie for you. You can find Canon and Epson’s at this price, but you’ll be giving and taking. Plan on spending more. $50-75 or so, less if you buy wisely. Hope this helps. Cheers! * Quick August 2023 update * Don’t get this garbage. I rarely use it, but my mom wanted to. Her Canon was so old, it wasn’t supported, meaning the latest drivers stopped at Windows 7. No problem, she can use this one. I only used it to print emails, primarily from my phone. I tried to set it up on hers (2021 iPhone se,latest updates). Once I finally did jump through the hoops ( for some stupid reason she couldn’t sign into my account. I had to create a complete new one. Weird. ). Could not get it to work with her laptop, no matter what i tried. She got an email from SSA, with a couple of PDF files attached. Couldn’t print them. Period. I finally had to email them to myself, use a third party app to open them. About an hour, I finally got the title page to go, but it refused to print the actual forms, even though the app was set to print the whole thing. Tried to reprint, had to sign in. ????? Whole battle again. note- this was on a six month old iPhone 4 pro, wouldn’t work on the latest iPad pro. ???? Finally got the second set to print. Nothing works now. Connection to WiFi is fine, switched to Bluetooth, said it was fine. All it would do is make me sign in. Multiple times. I gave up. Found a third party app that works, but not on WiFi. It kept trying to send the doc to HP first. Finally managed to use BT successfully-again with an app for Epson? Hmmm. New ink, ran out in two days. According to HP, anyway. That’s it. Wouldn’t work on even my phone. Scanning wanted to send info go HP…,again. Why? Even paid support refused to explain that bit. I would have just trashed it, took it to be recycled instead. The stuff inside there is toxic. One point i hate making- my first printer was a dot matrix hooked up to a Zenith 286 24mhz desktop. 96 baud connection backboned over one of the three server farms on a data line on Sweden. In 1988, in the USAF. Kinda got a good grasp on tech. Do yourself a favor. Don’t buy HP printers. Any of them. Get a cheap arse thing from Amazon. Maybe something that’ll print more than two or three color pages. Or more than half a photo. If you happen to use anything Apple-don’t even waste your money. It simply will not work. At all. Even though everything from HP, including the box it comes in says it will. Get something else. The $79 Epson that came with actually full size ink cartridges works fine, faster, and prints 4x6” photos. A lot of them, if that matters. Even works with the oversized bargain pack ink-at less than half of even the off-brand HP crud. That’s all, kids. (BTW, i found a driver for Windows that worke with a 5 year old $50 Canon. W/E. ) ... show more

  • good printer for home or office.
Style: 5SE16A
The printer is very good, but the instructions to install the printer were very lacking. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with Tech support.

  • Great Buy
Style: 5SE16A
Definitely an upgrade from my previous wifi printer and way easier to install. The app basically sets everything up for you...the way it should be! And I love the idea of having the ink delivered when it starts running low. Overall, this was s great buy and so worth the money. Amazon was the only place I could find this printer online or in stores. It has been sold out for awhile. I’m glad I was able to snag one that wasn’t marked up in price. ... show more

Wastes A LOT of time. No CLEAR info manual or trouble shooting guide Can’t clear info off phone or iPad easily… PRINTER low on ink ..Printer has no paper, printer not connected to internet… even with all those adjusted ..be prepared to spend at least an hour an issue ..each time. Sigh. So not worth the aggravation ... show more

  • Glad I ignored the negative reviews - great printer
Style: 5SE16A
I was initially worried about the ~10% of 1-star reviews mostly by people who said their printer could not connect to their computer. I bought this "renewed" printer and had no trouble at all getting it to connect to my computer. It prints well. The HP Smart app on Windows 10 works fine. Glad with my purchase. Hope it lasts! ... show more
