  • Everything I hoped for!
Style: Old Version
I know some reviewers had issues setting this up so I was a little worried. But it was super easy! I'm old fashioned and I guess you can't get a printer that isn't wireless very easy anymore. I was worried about it being wireless...we've all had issues with internet, wifi, or phone issues since back when it it all began. I was hesitant expecting issues with signal, communication between printer and phone, iPad,etc. WOW! I am VERY happy with this printer/scanner!! I cross stitch and buy a lot of PDF patterns. I can just download to my phone and print! Also, the patterns in my magazines, I can scan and print only the patterns i want, and keep my magazines on the shelf. When I buy a paper chart/pattern, I can scan it for my working copy (so I can use a highlighter or pen to mark on it), and sell the original, or give it away and not have to ruin the original by marking it up or bending it with lots of use. I use the XL ink cartriges and print in 'draft' mode which saves ink, but prints just as good as normal mode. If you're printing photos you would want the better quality print mode of course. The app is super easy to use! I've had no issues with internet or communication from any device. The ink that comes with it prints quite a bit depending on the settings you choose for draft or quality print, and if you're printing a lot of color pages, the ink does go quickly. I put a new color and black XL cartridges in and printed 70 pages that were full pages of dark browns and dark colors filling each whole page. My ink levels are low but still printing all colors and black with no lines or fade looking color like it will when you are at the end of your ink and keep printing till its so faded its time to change ink. Yeah, I get my moneys worth out of my ink...I first print what needs to be clear and perfect and when ink starts looking light, I print what isn't so colorful, and doesn't have to be perfect just able to actually see it or read it until it prints that page that is a 'I can't tell what's what on the page' or it starts getting really light and makes weird line breaks in the color. Over all, this is a great printer/scanner! I am very happy with it. Take your time setting it up and do every step properly as you go. One tip I learned a couple days ago: if you change your wifi password, you will have to remove the printer from your app, and reset it up as you did out of the box...but it only takes a couple minutes. The most frustrating part of that was the time I spent trying to just go into the app and change my wifi settings for a password change. I couldn't find anything for that, and I'm not too fond of 'tech support' no matter what item, brand, service, etc. So there may be a way to do that without removing it and resetting it up, but that worked for me without having to deal with tech support. ... show more

  • Outstanding Value
Style: Old Version
My old all-in-one printer was outdated enough that there was no longer support available for it, so the hunt was on for a replacement. I was pleasantly surprised to find this unit with all the features and functions I wanted at such a great price. Setup was fairly easy and when coupled with the HP Smart app printing documents stored on my phone via WiFi was a breeze. The driver is pre installed and it even came with starter ink. A great unit at a great price. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: Old Version
I am a small business farmer who prints a lot of paperwork labels for our products plus go to school. I was skeptic at first as I am use to the you get what you paid for. But this is worth what I bought it for. Doesn’t fail. Prints scans copies great. Only dislike is how it holds paper and the number of pages it prints at a time. Why it’s 4/5. But for someone who is starting out or going to school. This is great lil printer. ... show more

  • Worst printer I've ever purchased (HP has lost it completely) -- and customer support was abysmal
Style: Old Version
Please note that I had to give Print Quality NO stars because I had NO pages ever printed. I also gave Touch Screen NO stars because, well, I touched it a lot but the product never worked correctly........... I purchased this printer for a home office. I've purchased HP printers from the beginning of time and have been delighted most of the time. NOT THIS ONE. The printer did not work from Day One when I was able to get around and install it. It shouldn't be that hard (I should note I'm a tech guy, for what that's worth). My system could rarely find it (my system is able to find two Canon printers just fine); Instant Ink, HP's attempt at addicting you to a program that isn't required, is painful to avoid; and I swear it just was a disaster. I called HP Tech Support -- multiple times -- to sort this out. Lots of promises made, but nothing helped and no answers. I finally requested my money back since it was still under warranty. The service person I spoke with in the Philippines told me they would have to review with their supervisor and get back to me right away. They did not. I called two other times with the same promise. That service tech asked for a time for me to receive a call from them to discuss. I gave them a time to call me and, shock of shocks, they did not call me on time... they called me 45 minutes later and I was unable to pick up. I gave up and told them I was sick of a dead printer sitting around for weeks and was going to replace it with another brand and just throw this one away (I'm not a fan of keeping dead equipment around in hopes that it might have a resurrection. HP finally got back to me and offered 50% of the price I paid. FIFTY PERCENT. I told them it needed to be 100%. The service agent told me I would get HALF because in their records, even though it was still under warranty, they showed I did not contact them immediately so 50% was the best they could do. I told them to try that again, the device was still under 100% warranty and should get 100% back. They refused... but kept calling and calling and emailing and calling me to get me to agree to 50%. I told them it was a waste of my time (because it really was). I bet I spoke on the phone with someone from the Philippines (apparently their customer service center?) 8 or 9 times...!!! Nothing. Zero movement. I gave up. I threw the printer away and highly recommend you DO NOT BUY THIS ONE. I purchased a Canon and it was up and running within 5 minutes. Simple to install; color is great; and we're delighted. Just finished printing dozens and dozens of wedding invitation envelopes, for example, and they're all perfect. HP HAS LOST THEIR MIND; LOST THEIR PRODUCT QUALITY; AND LOST THEIR CAPABILITY TO HELP CUSTOMERS. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN FOR ME. Consider yourself forewarned if you buy this.... ... show more

  • Great Printer!
Style: Old Version
This is an awesome printer! I had to replace my Canon printer that I used for work and personal and it finally died of old age and use(?). I bought 2 different Canon printers to replace my old one. Both I had to return due to they would not connect with my WiFi. I had been in the business of Internet and cell phones for 17 years, so I have some knowledge of how they work and set up, so I don't believe it was due to user error. So I got this little HP baby and had no issues. Set up was easy and quick. Printing quality is very good. I really like how the paper feed is on the backside and how the scanner works and prints. I was able to get 3 months free ink cartridge, which I prefer the cartridge. Overall I love and am very impressed with this printer! You won't be disappointed! ... show more
