  • Great
I was skeptical at first the beating on whether or not to purchase this printer, due to the negative reviews. However, it did not disappoint! The printer, is relatively easy to set-up. On your smart phone download the HP app, which is free of charge and will walk you through a step-by-step process, for a successful set up. The app also lets you see current ink levels, along with advanced printing options. Inserting the ink cartridges, is relatively simple and comes with a three month warranty, of free ink upon completion of set up. The quality of the printing is like having a staples in your own home. It’s compatible with your phone laptop or whatever electronic device allows you to print. While printing, it does make it’s anticipated noise however while idle, it’s silent. Overall, I bought this computer for online college classes. However, it’s also a great use for a home office. So far, it has not disappointed me! Lastly, this printer is affordable, and worth the price and quality. ... show more

  • Set up can be aggravating
Nice printer, exactly what I needed for home use. But, HP needs to do more to make set up less complicated. I had to reset my wifi router five times, plug unplug turn on turn off the printer over and over. I finally called the HP 800# and got AI to help me. I had to even restart my phone for the app to work after I had installed and uninstalled three times. There's some kind of protocol setting these up now. I had AI send a concise summary of the steps to my email in case spectrum wifi gets knocked off. And the HP app has changed now. It's comprehensive and you don't have one app to print and one for settings and other issues, it's combined now. Printing from pdf's is much easier to track. I didn't go for the ink deal bc I don't print too much to matter. All in all for $50 it will do fine. ... show more

  • Reasonably Priced (at the time of writing) and Works Well!
Easy Set Up: I see many reviews saying setting it up was unnecessarily difficult but I found it was pretty easy when done on a PC vs a phone. I downloaded the app to my phone but the printer couldn't connect to my phone for some strange reason so I pivoted to doing the install on my laptop. Yes, there are a few windows and set up screens (I think they could make that part more streamlined) but once it was set up, the printer works like a charm! Easy Ink Install: For those of us born in the 70s and 80s we all know too well how to insert ink cartridges into a printer so this part was very easy for me. Even though I haven't used a printer in over a decade, muscle memory made this step very easy. 3-Month Free Ink Trial: Also, easy. Someone's review said they couldn't figure out how to sign up but one of the (many) windows that comes up during install and setup was the one to create an account for this program and start the free trial. I'm assuming most of the bad reviews noting the complexity of setting the printer up were individuals either trying to use their phones or people who have never had a printer and was unfamiliar with how to insert ink cartridges. I do agree with them that the instructions could be more clear and the process better streamlined to remove many of the steps but overall for me it was easy. ... show more

  • HONEST REVIEW, SUPER RELIABLE
Very useful. The price is just so low for what you’re getting, I feel like I robbed them. Via the mobile app setup is extremely easy. If wanting to use wireless laptop then setup gets somewhat tricky, but ends up working. (You have to print the info via the printer, connect the printer via your laptop with the 2 min PIN, then connect to WIFI direct, and then connect back again to your own WiFi). If you don’t need to use wireless laptop, app is extremely conventional. I haven’t tried using a wired connection so I can’t give my opinion on that. ... show more

  • Great product.
It does what it's supposed to do. Great price, great features, great quality, great print speed! I had to call HP to get them to help install my printer so it would handle commands from my computer. After that, it works great!

  • Perfect for what I need
Love this printer! It was incredibly easy to install with the help of a simple YouTube video. Now my printer is set up to print from my computer and from any device that is connected to my Wi-Fi network.

  • Wireless printer
I have always had HP DeskJet printers but they were attached them direcly to my computer. When I was shopping for a new one, I could only find wireless printers. I do not like wireless but it is what I am stuck with. The printer I bought does the job with the little that I copy, scan and print but I am not thrilled with it. I suggest people to shop around more then I did. ... show more

  • HP DeskJet 2955 Wireless All-in-One Printer Review
Let me start by saying that I really liked the HP DeskJet 2955 itself. The printer is lightweight, compact, and easy to use, and I was very happy with it during the nearly month that I had it. One of the biggest things I enjoyed was being able to do almost everything through the HP app. Setting up the printer was fairly simple. I was able to connect it to my Wi-Fi, print documents directly from my phone, and even scan documents to my phone. Those were features I hadn't really experienced with previous printers, and I genuinely appreciated how convenient they were. Being able to control the printer from my phone made the whole experience feel modern and effortless. Unfortunately, the app itself became a major problem. I was constantly being told that I needed to finish setting up my printer, even though I had already completed the setup process. I would go through the setup again, reach the final stage, print the diagnostic and printer-status information, and receive confirmation that the process was complete. However, when I closed the app and opened it again, I was once again told that my printer still needed to be set up. Having to repeat the same process over and over became frustrating and exhausting. The bigger issue came when I ran out of ink. One of the reasons I purchased this printer was because the description and product images indicated that it came with a three-month supply of ink. I initially assumed that the additional ink would be included in the box with the printer and the standard cartridges. I later discovered that this was apparently something that had to be handled through the app. I may have misunderstood the original offer and should have read the details more carefully, so I won't put all of that on HP. However, actually trying to get the additional ink through the app was a completely different problem. The app repeatedly told me that I needed to connect to my printer, even though I was at home, connected to my own Wi-Fi, and the printer was already connected and working. I went through the process multiple times, only to encounter additional connectivity issues and errors. At that point, something that should have been incredibly simple—getting replacement ink for a printer I already owned—became a frustrating ordeal. Unfortunately, customer service didn't make the situation any better. I was never able to speak with an actual person. I repeatedly tried to get assistance, entered my phone number when requested, and explained my problem in different ways, but I was never able to get someone to call me or properly address the issue. Instead, my cases continued to be closed without the underlying problem being resolved. That was ultimately what made me decide to return the printer. It's disappointing because I genuinely enjoyed using the HP DeskJet 2955. Being able to print and scan directly from my phone was incredibly convenient, and I loved the technology and simplicity of the printer itself. If everything had worked as it should—or if I could have easily reached someone when I needed help—I probably would have kept it. But a product isn't just the hardware. The software and customer support are part of the experience too. If I can't get help with basic things like setting up my printer, getting replacement cartridges, understanding how to subscribe to an ink service, or troubleshooting connectivity issues, then I have a hard time justifying keeping the product. I truly don't want to believe that HP's customer service is being handled entirely by AI, but that's honestly what the experience felt like. I needed a real person to understand the problem and help me solve it, and I never got that opportunity. Overall: The HP DeskJet 2955 is a nice, lightweight, convenient printer with some genuinely useful features, especially the ability to print and scan directly from a phone. Unfortunately, my experience with the app and customer service overshadowed those positives. The printer itself wasn't the reason I returned it—the lack of reliable support and the difficulty resolving basic issues were. ... show more
