Perfect affordable printer for at home use! It was super easy to set up. HP support has a video on their YouTube channel of how to set it up, and it was really straight forward. After you take off the tape and plastic liners, it has you download the HP app and the app guides you through setting up the WiFi, paper, & ink. Overall from unboxing to printing my first sheet, it probably took about 15-20 minutes. Setting up my WiFi and connecting to my phone was a breeze. I don’t have a computer so I was worried about finding a printer that could easily print from my phone, but this was very simple and easy to do. I was able to print documents directly from my files, as well as photos from my photo app. It takes a little less than 30 seconds per sheet, which isn’t bad for an at home printer, but could be slightly irritating if you’re printing over 50 pages at a time. The ink is great, prints pretty true to color. The black is saturated, and the colored ink is slightly less vibrant but that’s not an issue for me personally. I added a photo of what it looks like printing via the HP app, as well as the printed page afterwards. As you can see, the black is nice and saturated, the red is slightly less saturated but nothing bad, and it prints very accurately. This is perfect for my homeschooling needs, & for less than $40 I’m very happy with it. Pros : - printer and copy machine in one - comes with ink both black and colored - black ink is nice and saturated - an additional 3 month free trial to their ink subscription - after the trial the ink subscription isn’t very expensive either which is great. - 1 year warranty included - affordable printer (bought on sale for $35) - set up took less than 20 minutes start to finish - prints fast enough for at home use - can print straight from my phone, either from files or photo library Cons : - colored ink is slightly dull, but not too bad as long as you’re not printing actual photos. - the print speed could be an issue for you if you’re printing over 50 pages at a time ... show more

    • Terrible app, terrible printer
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. This was supposed to be a light duty home printer for occasional laptop and iphone based printing. It fails completely at both. The printer will only allow you to print through the app on an iphone, even though the iphone is able to recognize it, the printer will not print without the app. The app itself is extremely pushy about making an account to access even the basic features of your printer (ie printing and checking ink levels). No matter how much setup and troubleshooting you do, you will not be able to print reliably from a laptop. Without fail the printer needs to be completely unplugged and reset every time you want to print from a laptop, it will miraculously print with no issue if you are using the app on your phone though. On the laptop? its less hassle to email your documents to yourself so you can go through the phone. The final straw is the ink, which is a total scam. the printer goes from printing perfectly black letters on one page to "Printer out of Ink, Replace now" and it refuses to print anything in black at all.. no fading, no streaking, just clearly a programming setting telling the thing to stop trying so the user has to buy more ink. I doubt I even printed 30 pages before it was empty. This printer didn't last 6 months. It's going straight in the garbage, but not before I go Office Space on it with a baseball bat. Don't waste your money on a company that tries this hard to force making accounts and looping you into apps and ink sales prematurely. ... show more

Perfect all-in-one printer for home use. I only had one issue with it; after several months of not using it, I went to print something and it wouldn't work. After googling the error code, it turns out the driver was no longer available. After several hours of trying to fix it myself, I contacted HP support (I was still under warranty), and after allowing the tech remote control of my laptop, they were able to reinstall the driver and my printer is once again working like a charm. From my very first use, wireless connectivity was a breeze, the printing and scan quality is perfectly fine, I haven't experienced any jams -- no issues at all other than the driver problem. Which probably never would have been a problem if I hadn't gone four or five months without using the printer. ... show more

I am a Grammy, and I was looking for an inexpensive printer with no fuss, bells and/or whistles, and one that was simple and easy to use. I wasn't sure how this 'HP Desk Jet 2827e Wireless All-in-One Colore Inkjet Printer' was going to work, but I thought I had nothing to lose at this low price. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use. I also wanted a 'white printer' to go with my white office furniture, and I really love it. It's hard to find 'white printers' and the few printers available in 'white' are very expensive, like most printers. My grandson set it up for me with no trouble. When I got it, I didn't realize new printers don't have much ink, so it didn't last long. I was a little worried at first. I decided not to buy a knock-off ink and buy the HP Desk Jet ink. I purchased that on Amazon. It prints a lot of pages, and I was surprised to seethe the printing was clear and sharp. The printing also lasts a long time. I have used knock-off for years, and colors were never true to form. Will continue to use HP ink because the print quality is good and colors like red adn other colors are true colors. I am very happy I purchased this no-fuss printer. I purchased another table and didn't like it. My brother purchased one of these 'xiskt Android Tablet 10.1 inch Android 13 Tablet", and showed me his. He really loved it and raved about it to me.     • A decent bare-bones printer that could use better instructions
I replaced a more expensive HP printer with this no frills, inexpensive HP 2827e printer. I loved the features and print quality of the expensive one, but it only lasted 22 months. I decided I don’t do enough printing to splurge a second time. As far as setup, I decided not to use a WiFi connection. I have it hooked up to my PC with a USB cable (a 6-foot 2.0 USB-A to USB-B). A USB cable is not included in the package, so I had to buy one separately. I have heard too many people complain about problems with wireless and I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. I did install the HP Smart App. I was pleased that during setup with the USB cable, I was never asked if I wanted to sign up for the Instant Ink subscription program, and I wasn’t pressured into establishing an account. There are no helpful instructions that come with this printer. No user manual. I had to search “how to” videos on the Internet just to figure out how to get adhesive tape (put on for packaging) off the printer and remove everything that needed to be removed from the interior, like a piece of cardboard. I admit I’m not tech savvy or intuitive or good at deciphering picture diagrams, so most people might not have any trouble at all, but I did. Even opening the plastic output tray door was a challenge. The door was tightly shut and required a hefty tug to open. I was sure I was going to crack it in two. The plastic feels flimsy. I also had to search the Internet for setup instructions. Most of the online how-tos assumed setup would be with WiFi, not a cable, so I ended up calling HP customer support and asking them to walk me through it. I was able to quickly get through to a human, which was a plus even though there was a slight language barrier. So, for me, setup was not a breeze, but it was manageable. As far as print quality, I would say it’s acceptable but not the best. Most of my printing is done in black only, and the black is not as sharp and crisp as I would like. As far as features, this printer is very basic. I think it will accomplish everything a more expensive printer will, but some things will have to be done manually. This means some jobs may take a bit longer and require a little more creativity. I do not do a whole lot of printing, so I can deal with that. I found the ink cartridges easy to install. And I was told in the question-and-answer box that I will be able to print in single cartridge mode, which means I will only have to buy black ink. Other pluses are that the printer is compact, lightweight (7.55 lbs.), is white (doesn’t show dust like black does), and is attractive. Bottom line, this printer is relatively inexpensive, functional and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It prints. It scans. It copies.     • Finally a Wireless Printer That Just Works
I have to be honest, this printer surprised me. It was affordable, super easy to set up, and I was up and printing within about 10 minutes. I’ve owned so many printers over the years that constantly had wireless connection problems or needed endless troubleshooting, but this one has just worked from the start. Honestly, that alone makes it worth it to me. Print quality has been solid and everything has been straightforward to use. The only downside I noticed is that the black ink that comes with the printer does not seem to be a full cartridge. Mine ran out after roughly 25 pages, so just be aware you’ll probably want replacement ink sooner than expected. Other than that, it’s been a great experience so far. ... show more

    • VERY DISAPPOINTING
The HP DeskJet 2827e is one of the most unintuitive printers I’ve used. Because my computer has an ARM processor, I can’t print from it at all. The printer won’t connect, and there’s no wired option. I’m stuck printing only from my phone. The HP Smart app is sort of helpful, but only when it actually stays connected. Half the time it drops the printer entirely, and features seem to come and go. I think I remember managing to clean the print heads once through the app, but now the option is nowhere to be found. The “print quality tools” section looks like where it should be, yet it’s grayed out and unusable. So I end up Googling every single thing I need to do because nothing in the app is intuitive or consistent. The HP Instant Ink subscription has been another headache. The printer can’t reliably send its information to HP, so the subscription just charges me every month even though it can’t detect my printer or send the right cartridges. I plan to cancel, but I want them to send me all the cartridges they owe me and so I haven't yet. When I try to get help, the HP support page only gives me videos instead of real troubleshooting steps. Even beyond the issues I’ve already mentioned, the overall experience just feels inconsistent and unreliable. The printer struggles with basic tasks, the tools you need aren’t always available, and the whole setup never feels stable. It’s fine for the occasional quick print from a phone, but anything more than that becomes a hassle instead of a convenience.. ... show more
