This pencil is extremely simple to use and requires almost no setup. Just plug it in to charge and hold the top of the pen for two seconds to turn it on. Then tap the top twice to turn it off. Those directions were a little challenging to find within the small text of the manual but I figured it out eventually. My only complaint is it is too easy to accidentally turn off. I have, upon multiple occasions, been drawing and accidentally turn the stylus off in the middle of a project. Be weary of the on/off taps! ... show more

This pen over time has some weird spots that look oily and can't be removed with soap and water, but otherwise it has been quite functional, possibly preferable to the smooth but somewhat frictional original apple pencil. The charge doesn't hold up, however, and dies after just 2-4 hours of use. If I don't remember to charge it the day before it easily dies out. However, it can easily be regarded with a laptop within a few hours too. For the price, it's very recommendable to try notetaking with my ipad 7th gen, and it's lighter than the apple pencil so it's a great alternative! I'm not sure if I'd use it for drawing as there's a small offset between the pen and the screen's pointer but for notetaking this was a marginal issue. ... show more

I got the purple one and it worked fine when I got it but now it only turns on when it wants to usually when I’m not even trying to turn it on it will all of a sudden come on in the pen holder on my case guess I’m just out the $$ cuz of course I’m out of the return window .
