I got this for 180 from amazon resale. it came in the original box with everything but the paper samples. the starter toners were already installed but registered at 100% upon removal and reinsertion and HP still let me register it for the full 1 year warranty. its fast and quiet, the only thing i dont like is how long it takes for printer properties to come up since it's networked and has to use IPP to get them (dont ask me why i dont know) but other than that, the prints are great, and for over 50% off i'm very pleased. I dont need the sample paper, I have enough photo/high grade/normal paper and they all work, the photo prints aren't bad since this takes the thick HP 4x6 glossy paper in the pull out tray, and they come out nice. It did come with the 800 page starter toners for all 4 but the printer registered 2 pages printed and the toners at 100% so I'm probably going to keep it. I dont need wifi (my whole house is wired for 10G) and i dont need fax or scanning (25 5 year old inkjet i have that scans and faxes can still do that if the nozzles clog) but, yeah, i cant say anything bad about amazon resale and this printer. it works perfect and the firmware on the one i have lets you turn the toner chip/authentication off so you can use the 130 210XL toner kits from 3rd party places. again, its fast, quiet, came with everything but the paper samples, security was the default code (which i changed through the jet direct web interface) and quality is great. For the price its awesome for one person or a small office. Just turn automatic firmware check/update off and you're good. HP will honor the warranty of these even though amazon says they wont ... show more

    • Drastically disappointing.
Literally the worst printer I've ever owned! I can't tell you how many times I've sent an item to print and it goes nowhere. When I open the device manager to see what the issue is the document has disappeared; the few times you do find a document there it doesn't give you any info about why it won't print, just that its not printing. It times out very quickly and doesn't spool documents to print at a later time, they just evaporate. I'm not sure if there are IT settings to work around these things but this is such basic functionality that it shouldn't be necessary, and I definitely do not have time in my work day to play with printers. Absolutely disappointing. Print quality is nice, I will give it that much, so if you have loads of time to fight with it this might be a good option for you. ... show more

    • Very Nice Printer
I purchased this printer to replace an HP3600N color laser printer that can't be fixed anymore. It died a horrible death. I had originally intended to connect the printer to a Windows 7 Dell Optiplex 970 but found this to be impossible. The drivers from HP refused (failed) to work so I hooked it to a Dell XPS laptop with Windows 11. The printer automatically updated its firmware, the proper drivers were installed, and I printed a beautiful image as a test, all in a little over two minutes. The printer is fast, far quieter than its predecessor, and the images are much nicer. I don't yet know about toner use rates. The *pages* they tell you probably not be the same as what you experience. One thing, make absolutely sure you register the printer online. Verify the warranty start date is the date you're registering it and not some time in the past. FYI. If this printer lasts the 20 years like the last one did, I'll be happy (and old). I'll update this when I get some idea on the toner usage. The toner cartridges are nestled behind the drop down manual paper feed door. This is the top door on the front you can hinge down. You have to press a button on the left side to access the toner cartridges. This area is where the product SERIAL NUMBER and PRODUCT NUMBER label is located. You may need a photo of this label in the future. That's a hint. The ON/OFF button is a small rectangular LED lit button on the top right of the front the printer. I may have missed it in the manual but had a problem finding it. It's not anywhere near the line cord. Not that it was hidden, but it matched so well it as almost stealth. If I could give it zero stars I would. This was a finicky printer even on its' best day, and then one day after I had had it just over 1 year, it just decided to stop working altogether. No amount of coaxing would allow it to print from my computer, not via wireless nor even via direct cable connection. This is simply the worst printer I have ever had the displeasure of owning and will never purchase a printer from HP again. For the price, you can do so much better. Buyer, stear clear. ... show more

    • Below average for a year, then dead
Below average for a year, then dead. It printed fine for three months. Then the colors started getting wonky. We replaced toner, and the color got better but it started printing random marks. After exactly 12 months of service, it died. D-E-A-D dead. Will not turn on.

    • My last HP printer
This was my last HP printer. I loved the way it looked, the feature set was great, and I've had 30 years of great experiences with HP printers. But this one just won't set up properly. I gave it six months - I just get it printing the way I like it, and suddenly it uninstalls, or re-installs itself. It may be my computer too, idk, that's why I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 1, but I'm done. Ordered a Brother, and will take a loss selling this one on Facebook MP. ... show more

Printing is fast and easy. Printer is quiet. Do not like the selector button. The front collects dust if in an environment that is not the cleanest.

Printer is great. Had a problem after installing because the printer was stuck in some kind of loop and I was unable to enter product support. After leaving the printer overnight, it told me it needed to update. I followed the instructions. It is updated and now is working as it should. Printer wonderful!
