Although the price was higher, I liked the description of quality and thickness, and also that it included a pad for the heater/pump. We have limited space, but my daughter and I were able to put together very easily. The design is very intuitive so it went together nicely. We noticed right away that the bottom of the tub is a little softer. I can't say for sure if it will insulate, but I feel it has to help. Review: If you have an inflatable hot tub you honestly have to buy this, it's seriously the best thing I've ever bought for my tub. Our tub is on our hard patio which can make the floor a little hard and uncomfortable, but now it's super comfy and padded. I had some family over for Christmas who were so impressed. It also does a great job of insulating the tub. We noticed the water was much warmer than usual, even through the cold New Hampshire winters so it helps us save on running costs too. It was super easy to assemble (see pics) and it's held up really well so far. I've used another brand before, but ditched as it was thin and flimsy. I was a little hesitant because it's more expensive but it's worth every penny. Everything I bought it for, it checks all the boxes. If you have a hot tub, you need to get one of these mats. 10/10 from me! ... show more

I have already noticed that the heater has been running less since installing this pad. Half inch thickness is the only way to go.

I bought this to replace the oem pad that came with my hot tub. This is worth every penny of the cost. The extra thickness compared to other brands helps with comfort but more importantly helps reduce the heat loss from the bottom of the tub. It has made a noticeable difference in my utility bill.
