  • The best!!!!
I was about to purchase one of those high priced treadmills that have a monthly subscription. My husband researched and said consumer reports recommends this one. I’m so glad I got it! I love it!! Every thing is perfect from sound to width to it goes 15 levels!! It’s truly awesome. Heavy and extremely durable!…. My husband put it together and he can’t ever put ANYTHING together. 😬 THIS is the treadmill you want! ... show more

  • Solid Treadmill, one minor shipping problem but hopefully resolved in 15-30 days
I just finished putting this treadmill together. It was simple enough to put together with really only 4 steps. You will probably need someone to help you with the console when putting that one but other than that its a one person job if you can lift 50lb easily. The treadmill when received looked fine, after pulling everything out I found the pallet on the bottom broke from probably being lifted. I never saw that on delivery. But the pallet ended up pushing into my console and cracking it. I called Horizon and though the console is on back order until end of November, it doesn't sound like any issue getting a new one. Horizon also offered to send out someone to install it but its only a few screws and maybe 30 minutes top of work. I read other reviews that they had a broken console issue as well. I think its partially the shippers fault but you could also put some blame on horizon I guess based on the placement of where the console is and the padding around it. For a 340lb treadmill I think overall they did a good job packaging it, its just part of the shipping game. As said above this is a 340lb treadmill so when you get it if you live in an apartment or a place without a garage make sure to have someone there with you and so lifting straps and a dolly if possible. My shipper brought it right into my garage and then me and another guy lifted it first with a dolly then down stairs with lifting straps. I wish these treadmills came in seperate boxes one for the console, one for the motor, and one for the frame. Not even sure if that's possible but would make moving it so much more easier. The trick when putting it all together is keeping everything lose, don't tighten anything down until the end. Everything fits snug so to make it easier to put things together its good when there is a little give. Horizon gives you all the tools to put it together the only thing extra you need is a pair of scissors and a spot to put all the cardboard and wood for packing (there is a ton). After putting it all together I was able to move the treadmill with some ease. This thing is a beast and when folded up you can lean it back and use the wheels to move it around you just have to make sure you have wide enough area. If I could change one thing with maneuverability it would be to add larger wheels. It does move I just think bigger wheels might help a little more for moving on carpet. After getting it situated I had know problem loosening the belt and lubricating it. They include a bottle which you have to use half a bottle every 150 miles. After lubrication the treadmill ran smooth, I ran a quick mile and had no issues. I haven't messed with any more features but after I get my new console I will update my review with things I have learned. ... show more

  • Horizon Treadmill
A monster of a machine, not for small spaces. The shipping box was all but destroyed, the treadmill was not harmed though. Was not that hard to assemble, but there was a problem with attaching the console. There are four bolts used to attach the console, two towards the front and two towards the rear. The two towards the rear would not line up. I had to remove the cross member and loosen the bolts on both upright masts and wiggle back an forth to align the holes for the rear bolts. This is a heavy duty machine (commercial quality) and well worth the price. ... show more

  • Poor design, lacks basic features, random resets, nonexistent customer support
The good: The treadmill is sturdy, heavy, and compact. It has a powerful motor, and good roller and belt size for people who run a lot. On paper everything looks great. The bad: Basic features are missing. You cannot add to your run duration in the middle of a workout. Let's say you set a run for 45 minutes, and as you're getting close to finishing, you fancy continuing for 10 more minutes to make it 55 minutes. You cannot do this. You have to wait for 45 minutes to end the workout, then re-start another workout from scratch. Run duration is also limited to 99 minutes, so again, if you want to run more, you have to stop at 99 minutes, and restart. The Start, Stop, Speed and Incline buttons in front of you are mechanical and not sealed. If water or sweat splashes on them, it will eventually leak down into the crevices and all of a sudden your workout will be paused - until it dries out. This actually happened a few times to me before I figured out what was going on. Heart rate measurement via the two handles is completely off. Not only do you have to hold on to the handles for quite some time before you see your heart rate getting measured, and watch it slowly going up, the measurements are at least 30% off. I know this since my Garmin watch was showing accurate instantaneous measurements of say 150 bpm, while the treadmill took for ever to settle on 110 bpm! Now here is the great thing when you do hold on to the metal handles/bars; there are two little plastic buttons hidden in the handles, almost impossible to see, and if you accidentally press one (very light press), the treadmill will reset and go down to near zero speed and near zero incline. These blue buttons are meant to switch between intervals in interval training, but they are very easy to press by accident as you bring your hands to hold on to the bars, or to measure your heart rate. There are at least three ways to adjust your speed and incline (see the yellow ellipses in my photo/drawing). Why do I need three ways? Why can't Horizon use some of that valuable real estate on the panel to add basic features like adding to my run time in the middle of a session, or selecting how many miles do I want to run? Also, you can only run based on a set time - you cannot run by deciding how many miles you want to run. According to the manual you have to lube the belt every 150 miles - you do the math for your family. For a family of four that uses this machine lightly (5 miles per person per day), this means almost once a week! And how lovely the lubing mechanism is - you have to be extremely careful and watch a few YouTube videos, since invariably the first time you do it, you will mess up and the belt will no longer be centered. Instructions in the booklet cover just the bare basics, and are useless compared to videos of users online. Summary: this is a major pain. In short, this machine has extremely poor design and poor user interface written all over it. It only looks good. That's it! The ugly: worst customer service of any company - I should say totally nonexistent. I asked them a simple question about operation of the machine 6 weeks ago; yes, 6 weeks ago! I got a form letter email reply and nothing more. I emailed them again 3 weeks ago, and the same thing. Not a word from them. Summary: Avoid, avoid, and avoid. Thankfully I purchased from amazon and was able to send it back - thank you amazon! ... show more

  • Horizon 7.4AT Treadmill
Solid machine without a bunch of software to slow startup of operation. Was easy to assemble and is simple to use. Highly recommend this model for people who are interested in good, basic operation.

  • So far great!
I did a lot of reviews and almost bought the Peloton tread. This tread is a great value with great options. I’ve had it for about 3 months, use it 5x a week and love it!
