This took my husband and I about an hour to install. The instructions say it should take over two hours. But if you have a basic understanding of how to change light fixtures it’ll go faster than instructed. I do have to say that the fan itself is very nice! I love that the blades are a heavy plastic and will be easy to clean off. It also cools the area down quickly and for someone who lives in the south this is a must! Probably the easiest ceiling fan to install providing you have the mounting box already installed in your ceiling. I went with this fan because it has plastic blades and I mounted it outside along with a mister system. My only complaint is that it doesn't put out as much air as I would like for it to. Easy fix though. Just bend the blades a tad bit more in the aggressive direction and it'll put out the flow you desire. ... show more

we bought two of these for our screened in patio. one of them started making strange noises and as it turned out, the remote was burned. that is where the noise and the weird smell came from. and yes, the installation and the trouble shoot were done by licensed electricians.
