Installed the fan in a covered patio outdoors (in the south). So far the fan works great, generates a sufficient amount of air/airflow, and the light output is plenty bright. The install was straightforward. I used an old remote with it and everything works fine. The fan motor is a little heavy, but that (to me) Represents a well-made, quality product. I ended up using the downrod because the hook to help when installing it as a flush mount did not seem safe enough to hold the motor while installing. As others have mentioned, it would have been better if the vents on the top had a mesh covering. Mud Dobbers will likely make nests in there. I notice a slight knocking sound when the fan is on high, but it’s not too loud. Overall, very happy with the Fan. Hopefully it last for years. ... show more

Homeowner that has installed several fans in the past, but not a professional. I found the installation of this fan to be well explained and did not encounter any significant problems with the installation. All parts were supplied and there were several extra bolts and washers incase some were damaged or lost. This fan was installed with two wall switches. One switch was for light and other was fan. It could have been installed on one switch with the use of pull chains. It does have the ability to switch directions based on the seasons. The fan is a good speed that is quiet and did not require any balancing (although the kit was supplied). The light is bright enough for general lighting but would not consider it over bright. It does take bulbs that can be replaced, unlike some fans. ... show more

This fan was easy to install and on high provides a nice amount of air. I used z-wave switches to make this fan smart and it works really well! I can control fan speed and light brightness. The only downside to this fan is the brightness of the light. I replaced with some daylight bulbs but still not very bright with the cover on. Otherwise this is a great fan. ... show more

These look great and work well. Needed to replace our light/fan fixtures on patio due to humid climate starting to rust them out. These exterior rated units were priced very reasonably compared to others, many of which were only fans without lights, and gave entire patio bit of a face lift. Seemed easier to put the fan with motor together on the ground after installing the support bracket. Then used two people to help balance and lift fan up and into the support bracket slot prior to reattaching wiring and putting on the light bulb and glass cover. ... show more
