I purchased this item because I wanted a sound machine that had a bird song noise. I do not use this as an alarm clock. I know this device does a lot more than make sounds, but the bird noise is why I purchased it. It is perfect for my needs. I find the sound of bird song mixed with the sound of water moving in a water fountain to be incredibly relaxing. I have a fountain on my covered porch that I love to listen to and adding this clock out on my porch so I can turn on the bird song noise is exactly the kind of relaxation I have been looking for. This device does much more than provide a setting for bird songs. It is an alarm clock. It has lots of beautiful colors you can program. It has many other sounds you can listen to. It is easy to plug in and charge. It appears to be durable. It is compact and attractive. So, it has a lot more versatility than what I use it for. I could not get the app or the toddler lock to function. It is working for my 9 year old, but I wanted to use it for my littles who can't tell time. It promises a lot of neat features, but it only delivers on being a decent alarm clock that lights up 10 minutes before the alarm goes off. This is actually kind of annoying because my kids pop up as soon as the light turns on, and then later in the day I hear an alarm that never got turned off sounding. It is not easy to use. Several great things about this product: *It has a low center of gravity. Some of the other "sunlight" clocks are large and tall, which can fall over easier when you're half asleep trying to turn it off. *There are a lot of options for the sounds: Frogs, birds, rain, water, etc. as background noise. We no longer live in a rural environment without sound pollution. *You can create multiple schedules based on your (or your child's) sleep schedule. *It's easy to program. You download an app where you set up the alarm. Some things I don't like about this product: *If this is for you, you might have to whack it a few times to find the right spot to turn it off. *You can set up a "sunrise" light to help you awaken naturally, which is a good thing. However, sometimes it wakes me a few minutes before the alarm actually goes off. I cannot turn off the alarm on the device; I need to do it on the app only--unless I haven't figured that out yet. *It won't function without having my exact location on the app. I understand that for setting the clock once since it downloads that information, but it doesn't seem to work properly without knowing my location.
