The trash can looks great and seems to operate fine - just rec'd it today. HOWEVER, the labels that are placed on this stainless steel, decorative item are enraging! No one wants to buy an attractive, sleek, stainless steel look for their home and leave bight blue instructional and marketing stickers on it. I wouldn't pay this much for a trash can if I was sticking this in a closet. It needs to be an attractive part of my kitchen. I have spent 10 minutes trying to get the stickers off with my nails and am moving on to a homemade soaking concoction. It's 2023 and all the world has figured out how to make a plastic/vinyl label that easily peels off of home decor items. Please use them! I haven't used the trash can yet and my blood pressure is at the boiling point. The quality of the paper in the label is poor as it only comes off in itty-bitty fragments - the the glue quality is off the charts...IT IS NOT COMING OFF! Flip it/Reverse it!! Purchased 13gal container in March 2020. We really liked all the features as they checked off all our needs. The split lid gave us clearance to put the trash can right next to our kitchen island. The split lid also had the largest opening. Love the features of the motion detection both on top and on the side. Move fast, cause the auto closing feature sometimes beat us to the trash drop! LOL! After 3 years of daily use the motion sensor still works but the lid gears have stripped out. One half of the lid drops to the closed position after opening. It will no longer close on its own. Hopefully, you will consider a better gearing design for longevity. We don't see an option to buy just the top and we haven't found a better can, so we're buying this one again. ... show more

I didn’t know it was possible to love a trashcan. My only complaint is that fitting trash bags over the opening on top can be tight and I may have ripped a bag or two figuring out how to go about it. But, the full trash bags are easy to remove and don’t get hung up on anything like our last piece of crap. I just need to make sure the dog doesn’t learn how to open it! ... show more

I was lead to this particular trashcan through a few other websites listing this can as being “dog proof.” That’s not the case, in fact it’s worse because if the dog is taller than the can; it’ll open right up for them when the motion detector is activated. It’s like their own dinner plate cover being lifted. You’ll find your dog pulling the carcass of a whole chicken. This works as advertised. It is very quiet in operation. Handsome appearance and easy to keep clean. Fitting the bags is a bit tricky the first few times. We put a few dryer sheets in the bottom and change them every few weeks; keeps the odors down. Good buy!

I’ve only had it for a day so I can’t speak much on quality yet but there are obnoxious stickers on the lid and can which rip at each corner immediately. Absolutely no way you’re getting those off cleanly. Can’t turn around the lid to hide the sticker for obvious reasons and if I turn around the can there’s the seem that runs all the way down the can and it’s just not sleek looking at all because of that… It bothers me so much! It is a nice counter heigh, nice for mischievous toddlers who like to chuck things in the trash like mine… harder for them to reach. I like that you can have it open for 5 minutes if you use the button and then when you close it using the button it works automatically again. That’s a really nice feature. I can see why this has such good reviews. Will fit a lot of trash. It takes C batteries but I like that there’s the power cord option! Just such a shame with these stickers- they can really ruin that sleek look you want when you invest in a trash can… Because they are quite pricey. Once I bought an automatic sensor trash can I just can’t go back 😆 Let’s see if Goo Gone helps. ... show more

    • Proper Placement Should be Considered.

1.) A front panel sticker is difficult to remove without scratching the plastic finish. 2.) The sensor is VERY sensitive and should be placed away from where activity is otherwise it is constantly opening when you walk by or reach above it. 3.) The chord on the power unit, if you don't want to use the batteries, is 45" long, so the can must be near an unused wall outlet. 4.) The bag retainer is plastic and perhaps not the easiest to use. The bag size you use is important, and you can always slip the bag over the can and bypass the plastic retainer. ... show more
