🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The gaming chair under review here splits the impressions of two users. One user finds the chair fairly comfortable with good back support but dislikes the flat, leather seat stating it could lead to backfire with flatulence, and it retains smells. They also complained about the heat, explaining that sticking to the chair on hot days is unpleasant. The other user praises the back support and adjusts to the initial discomfort on the thigh for the sake of aesthetics, although the armrests seem to become loose over time.

Pros

  • 🪑 Good back support and comfort in various positions
  • 💁‍♂️ Aesthetic appeal, fits well with gaming set-ups
  • 🔄 Adjustable pillows and reclining mechanism offer flexibility
  • 💪 Chair is sturdy post-assembly

Cons

  • 😓 Issues with heat on hot days, resulting in stickiness
  • 🧽 Retains odors due to leather material
  • 🔧 Some assembly difficulties and armrests may become loose over time
  • 😣 Initial discomfort due to metal bars hidden beneath side cushioning

Should I Buy It?

If aesthetics and good back support are your main criteria, this gaming chair might work for you. However, be aware of the potential problems highlighted: stickiness on hot days, odor retention, and a potentially uncomfortable seating surface. Overall, it offers a mix of comfort and style, but could be improved.

  • Comfortable, Adjustable, and Great Quality
Color: White
My 11-year-old son uses this Homall gaming chair and absolutely loves it. The high-back design is comfortable for gaming, homework, and everyday computer use. We are very impressed with the overall build quality. The chair feels sturdy, the height is easy to adjust, and the padding provides plenty of comfort even when he sits in it for longer periods. Overall, this is a great gaming and office chair for the price. It looks good, feels durable, and has been a perfect fit for our son. ... show more

  • This is a very good chair
Color: White
It wasn't too hard too assemble. It took maybe 20 minutes. The chair is super comfortable. I love the reclining feature. I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend this chair to anyone considering buying it.

  • Good value, armrests not adjustable
Color: White
Not bad, great value at 80 bucks. Easy to assemble, includes all screws and hex/phillips combo tool necessary for assembly. The structural screws have blue threadlocker on them, too, which is nice. Only complaint is that the armrests aren't adjustable height, but I am remedying that by using a couple armrest pads that strap onto them to gain an extra inch or two. I suppose you might be able to buy adjustable armrests seperately, the mounting point is just two bolt holes and you can use the bolts supplied. They are also solid plastic, too, with no cushioning. Not uncomfortable, but the pads go a long way. Overall a good value ... show more

  • I love this chair
Color: Dark Black
I bought this chair Sept 2023 to replace a Vinnesse chair I had. I loved that chair, but after 5 years it started falling apart. Mostly due to my dog in his puppy stage attacking the cushion and the gas cylinder failing. I love this Homall chair just as much. Unfortunately, the past month, the gas cylinder started giving out. I wasn't expecting this chair to last 5+ years. I ordered a couple Hyken's last fall during black friday, and decided to set one up yesterday. I can't do it. I don't find it comfortable at all compared to the Homall when gaming. Maybe it's because for the past 8 years I've been using gaming chairs and they've messed up my posture so much that sitting correctly isn't comfortable. I like that the reclining isn't tied to the armrests like some others. It's the perfect height and angle when I'm playing baseball. I find the padding sufficient. Never felt the need to get a cushion. I'll sit sometimes for 5+ hours on this chair and I've never felt uncomfortable in it, nor any backpain. I have two "complaints" with this chair. The first one isn't really an issue considering the price range, but I wish they'd give a better quality gas cylinder. And two, the armrests started wobbling about a year and a half after I got it. Aside from that, I love this chair, and ordering another one. ... show more

  • Top starter gaming racing chair
Color: White
I consider this the best starter racing style gaming chair you can get. They are all about the same size, so if you're on the fence and want to try it out before dumping a lot of money on a chair, I think this is a 5 star chair for that. Overall I think these are also a bit better than the Amazon Basics mid-back or high back chairs, and I consider leather, even PU leather, much better to sit on than the mesh chairs that are popular. The problem with PU is it will always peel, there's no way around that, and it's only going to really last a few years. Mesh will last a bit longer maybe but isn't really that comfortable. The super expensive office chairs that I've had at work I don't think are at all worth it. But even if you think they are, they are just a lot more expensive. This chair is easy to put together, it takes about 20-30 minutes max and everything is easy to tighten with the included allen wrench. The covers you have to screw in, and I might recommend a regular screwdriver, especially for the deeper holes. There is no hole on the seat cushion for those cover screws, but you don't really need any since the screws are shallow and will screw into the brackets anyway. The chair does smell. Some of it is probably polyurethane and some of it is probably the off-gassing. I'm sure it will go away after a bit, but be prepared for that. Some of the surfaces are also a little dusty, but I used a simple multi-purpose cleaner spray and it came right off. Chair tilts a little backwards, but when you sit on it, it feels straight so I guess that's just how it's supposed to be. The back rest has a tilt/recline feature, which you activate with a lever on the right side almost exactly like a car seat does. The included lumbar and neck pillows are filled with some cheap cushion material and covered also in PU leather. The higher end chairs will give you velour covered memory foam. You can also buy those for $30-50 if you really want to as well. I would say if you like this style of chair, the next real upgrades are real grain leather and Napa leather options. That will set you back $500+ and $700+ and you can really only get them from Noble Chairs or Secretlab. I plan to do this for the Napa at some point, albeit they are out of stock, and chances are the price will get closer to $1k. I am not fully sure if those will last longer either, you might just be better off buying this chair every few years instead. As I wrote above, PU chairs are all pretty much the same. The material really doesn't change. They all seemingly use a nylon base, PU leather, steel frame and foam for the cushions. This chair says it uses a shaping sponge, while the others say they use cold cured foam. The cold cured foam maybe is a step above, and the velour with memory foam pillows probably are too, but I'm not sure that it's worth the $300+ most of the gaming racing chairs charge. I seriously think once you start going above this price point at $100-120 or so, the next upgrade has got to be in the upholstery, and nothing else really will matter as much. Overall I'd give this chair a solid 3 or 4, but for the right person it's a 5. That's the problem with the rating system, I don't know exactly what you personally are looking for. An inexpensive chair that will last a couple of years or more and is in this style, it's a 5 easily. If you're looking for really high quality, and it's just a step for you, maybe it's a 3 or 4. But at this price point I can't justify anything below 5 stars, so I give it a 5, and I urge people that want to try this style out to seriously consider grabbing this one first, if they can't test out a higher priced chair for awhile and don't feel comfortable just dropping a higher price amount without testing something. Edit 1 Week: Smell was really terrible for the first 2-3 days, but then faded and is fine/gone now. Might not be a bad idea to let this air out a few days somewhere. The arms got wobbly and I had to re-tighten the bolts. I had to do this two times. Not sure if this will be a continuing issue or not. I'm still undecided whether I will stick with this or go for a better leather version. I really don't want to get another PU version, so for that I'll probably stick with this. But if I see a good deal on the real leather and napa leather options I'm leaning towards getting that, and giving this one to someone else as a gift. ... show more

  • Good chair but came used and scratched
Color: White
This is actually a great chair. It’s sturdy, comfortable, easy to assemble, and looks amazing. However, the only reason I am putting three stars instead of five (which I would’ve gladly done based on the chair itself) is because it came used. I paid for a brand new chair and expected a brand new chair, I understand little things happen in shipping, but this has clearly been assembled and returned. I will provide proof in the pictures. This chair has marks on the white parts of the support pillows, along with numerous tears in the leather, and what appears to be some kind of glue on the side. You can also tell the original plastic used to wrap the parts was ripped and re-taped with packaging tape before being returned. I don’t mind buying used products if I’m aware it’s going to be used but if I’m paying full price for a new product, I expect an unused product to arrive. Some other reviews state the same problem so it’s either Amazon or the seller themselves selling used items and pricing them at new. I will be keeping the chair because it is a very nice and comfortable chair. It’s also not worth the hassle of returning it, waiting to receive my money back, and then buying it again. But I am disappointed with it being used. I contacted the seller in hopes to receive a partial refund, and if there is some form of resolution then I will happily change the rating to 5 stars and if not then I just will not purchase from this seller again. Based on the chair alone, it’s a wonderful gaming chair! Just if you take the risk of buying one, hopefully it doesn’t come pre-used already! Good luck! ... show more

  • Not Actually the Worst Gaming Chair Ever.
Color: White
I've gotta say, if this isn't the worst chair I've ever purchased, it's pretty dang close. This thing is terrible. If I could go back in time, I'd choose the second after I ordered this chair so that I could slap myself in the face. I wouldn't go back seconds before and stop myself, because this poor decision should hurt someone, by golly. Features: The terrible smell, the cheap-feeling pleather, the wheels that take so much energy to roll that they're essentially square rocks, the hard as stone arm "rests," the sounds it makes (listen, I promise it wasn't me...it was the chair), or the slightly too slender seat base, this chair has it all. All wrong. I swear, the moment I opened the box, I felt a heavy sense of regret sweep over me as the smell came wafting out of the box. New things smell bad sometimes. I get it. But this was the worst. I may have gotten the big 'rona from opening this box alone. I get it, it's a relatively inexpensive chair, and I shouldn't expect much from it. But whatever low expectations I had, this somehow disappointed. It was really just a stop gap chair while an old faithful, 10-year-old chair gave out, and I got a proper replacement. But I even feel bad donating this thing to my 10-year-old kid. I was fooled by the relatively good reviews on average. I should have dug deeper. This one star review won't make a dent in the 11k reviews on hand, but if you happen to search through the negative reviews, believe me when I tell you to keep looking, man. It's no bueno at all. Edit: So I've been using the chair for these few months, and spending much more time in it than usual. I ordered another chair, but it's STILL not in. However, the seller reached out to me about some service issues, and I've gotta say that their service is top notch. The chair has held up well, though some of the above issues still exist. It's on me for maybe setting expectations too high. It does its job, though, and I'll keep rolling in it until I DO get a replacement, whenever that might be. It'll be an upgrade for my son, too. Edit 2: So it's not that bad, really. The smell is gone, the pleather is easy to keep clean, and the wheels have kind of broken in. My kid loves the angle he can drop the back to, and it looks sharp for him. I still haven't received my chair, but this one is worth what I paid for sure. Those armrests are still diamond on a Mohs scale hard. ... show more
