Bought this chair back in April of 2020 - I am leaving this review as of July 2026. Just a few months ago the first crack in the leather has appeared, but I’ve used this chair nearly every day for both gaming and work since I’ve bought it. Extremely durable and easy to move around. Matches my setup nicely and I added a cushion to protect the seat from friction/sweat. My back feels supported as well with an added pillow. Would recommend ... show more

The best office chair.... at any price

This is my second Furmax gaming chair. The first one served me faithfully for 10 years of almost daily use. I frankly don't know how they can sell a quality padded leather chair for this price. And.... the price is the same as it was 10 years ago! Incredible. I noticed that they have made some changes in bolt alignment, the install was definitely harder than last time, but for this quality at this price?? Buy it ... show more

Good for the money

If you're looking for an entry-level chair, this is fine. I bought it in 2020 when I was unemployed and just sitting at my desk when searching for jobs. It served me well throughout many work-from-home jobs, but ever since I turned 40 and started spending several hours a day in a chair, I knew it was time to retire this and upgrade to a more ergonomic chair. As a recreational gaming chair and temporary office chair, this is sturdy and reliable. However, now that I work from home full-time (and also game on my PC, all while being 40), I could no longer use this as my main chair because the arm rests CANNOT be adjusted to the height I need, and the lack of a headrest gives me a stiff neck if used too much. To make this comfortable enough for eight-hour work days, it was ABSOLUTELY necessary to buy an additional seat cushion, a lower back cushion, and armrest cushions (which cost about $150 additional), which is still cheaper than buying those $300-400 gaming or ergonomic chairs. You get more than what you pay for, but for a someone over 40 who works from home and games on the PC, I cannot recommend this. This would be great for students, anyone under 30, or anyone with limited funds. I did give it away for free to my mom (who is 74 and likes to write on her laptop recreationally), and she was very happy to get it, even when the leather is worn down after six years. I Would Buy This Again

I got the solid black chair. I got this chair for my new desk that sits about 30" off of the ground. For this desk, this chair is perfect. I'm only about 5'4", and the back goes all the way up to about mid-head height for me. The chair sits quite high off of the ground naturally, which is a huge plus for me. I had used it for the past few days to get a feel for it while gaming, working, writing, and I have found that it's quite comfortable and sturdy. The chair is also pretty aesthetically pleasing, too. It's in the racer back style, but not over-the-top gaming chair racer back. It's not very large, so it works in more compact spaces, and its was pretty easy to put together. I mean, really easy. I thought mine came without instructions, so I looked for similar instructions online. When I found the instructions that DID indeed come with my chair, I had put it together just as was printed. One thing I noticed is that since I only weight just over 100lbs, I had to get a friend of mine to break in the reclining mechanism after I put it together so it would actually move for me. This was even after "loosening" the tool it to it's maximum. Overall, it's nice, sleek, and perfect size for a short and small gamer. Not perfect - but solid enough to recommend

I have a really bad back - I had horrific scoliosis that I had a major fusion for (essentially my entire spine is fused) and in spite of promises it would help me, it's made the pain far worse. I am only 28 and I cannot work or do a lot. My experience in getting a chair since I moved has been a bumpy one. Sight unseen and untested, I bought a used Aeron. It was in perfect condition, but I absolutely HATED it. I sold it and bought something else - but the other chair came both broken and missing parts. I went to an Office Depot and didn't find anything I really loved, so I came back to Amazon and ended up going with this Furmax, which is what I was originally going to get instead of the Aeron anyway. For 60 dollars, it's a five star chair. For any more than that, it's a three. I'm rating it according to how it functions, not its price, as I feel that is FAR more helpful. Especially because Amazon works off a star system and not everyone reads every review. And prices also fluctuate. The good: - Attention to detail and packaging - the hardware was in its own cardboard and plastic sealed container, which was nice. It also included a thorough inventory list, instructions, and even a link to an assembly video. - Very easy assembly. It was very straight forward, and I managed with no help. The hardest part was getting the back to align with the seat - but it wasn't that hard. - Back support. I don't know how they did it, but the back support on this is SUBLIME. Even more expensive chairs I've had don't come close. Wonderful job there. - Quality. I can't speak for durability yet, as I just finished putting this chair together, but the screws all seemed to be of good quality, and the chair itself is solid. I don't worry about it breaking or anything under me. The bad: - The seat itself is just plain uncomfortable. It's a very hard seat and I'm likely going to have to get a cushion or pillow for it. Not something I should have to do with a brand new chair. - The arm rests. They aren't at all adjustable - which I KNEW upon purchase, but I didn't expect it to matter quite as much as it does. But it matters. Especially for shorter people, like me. They are just too high. I am considering taking them off. It's a little funny that they are this high - as if the chair was built for a much taller person (I'm 5'4 on a good day) - when the back fits me perfectly and doesn't seem like it would fit someone taller. They are also VERY hard. The padding is a joke and doesn't help at all. I also wish they were a little farther apart. - Height. As I said, I'm only 5'4, and even with the seat adjusted as short as it can be, my feet don't really sit comfortably on the floor when I'm sitting up and back as I should be. It's not HORRIFIC but I'm probably going to have to get a foot rest so I have proper stability. All things considered, I would recommend this chair - at $60. Any more than that, you should pass. For $60, you aren't going to find anything that's better, and just might end up with something worse. It's not perfect, but it's a decent chair at a good price, and it will suffice for my needs for the time being. I don't see this chair as being a permanent solution - I'm planning on getting something else in about 4 months unless something changes, but it's a good buy for the short term. ... show more

Great Chair for the Money

I have a bad back due to an injury that I suffered during my time in the military and have had many surgeries to correct it. Due to working full-time from home and doing school full-time, I needed a chair that could handle the 8+ hours of use plus give my back adequate support. My struggle to find a good chair with great back support that did not cost a fortune was a long and tiring one but after exhausting all my local stores I turned to Amazon. I found this chair and read a handful of reviews, then decided to give it a shot sight unseen and untested. For $60, it is a five-star chair. For any more than that, it is a three. I am rating it according to how it functions, not its price, as prices tend to fluctuate. The Good: -Packaging: The hardware was very well organized in its own cardboard and plastic sealed container. It also included an inventory list, instructions, and even a link to an assembly video which was a welcomed change. -Assembly: It was very straight forward with the instructions provided. Getting the back aligned with the seat and secured could cause some issues but a second set of hands makes it very easy. -Back Support: The back support on this chair is amazing and it rivals chairs that are significantly more expensive. -Quality: I have had this chair for almost two years at the time of this review and have not had any issues so far. All functions of the chair are still working with no peeling of the leather. The Bad: -The Seat: It is very hard and just plain uncomfortable. Would highly recommend using a pillow or cushion to help lessen the pain you will get from long sitting times. -The Arm Rests: They are not at all adjustable which was known upon purchase but depending on your desk and height it can be a huge issue. They are also just as hard as the seat which can cause pain in your arms due to the lack of padding. They can be removed with no impact on the functionality of the chair which is the only plus. After two years of constant use, I would recommend this chair at the $60 price tag. Any more than that, you should pass. For $60, you are not going to find anything that is better, and just might end up with something worse. It is not perfect, but it is a decent chair at a good price, and I will continue to use it until something happens that makes it unusable. ... show more

Furmax earns themselves a 5 star in my book!

disapointing. at first it was great but only 10 months in and the adjustable hydrolic pump already broke. now my chairs height is no longer adjustable, it is permenatly on the lowest setting. cheap piece of crap chair manufactured horribly probly from china. i regret purchasing this chair, now i have to shell out at leats another $60 for a new chair. update: january 7, 2020: i contacted the sellers at furmax and explained what happened with my chair, i originally suggeated they give me a partial refund. Furmax responded to my email later the same day & next dayed me a new hydrolic pump for my chair. the part arrived 2 days later & now my chair is functioning again. good customer service from furmax. it os still a poorly manufactured chair, you get what you pay for at $60 its not so bad. and the fact that furmax replaced the faulty part is a huge plus & greatly appreciated. i originally rated this chair 1 star but due to the seller responding & correcting the problem promptly earns it a 3 star rating. PRODUCT UPDATE 2/18/2020: AFTER THE COMPANY NEXT DAYED ME A REPLACEMENT PUMP FOR MY CHAIR I INSTALLED IT WITH EASE & IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE. BUT NOW THE SELLER TOOK IT A STEP FURTHER & OFFERED ME A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT CHAIR OF HIGHER QUALITY. THIS COMPANY WILL GO ABOVE AND BEYOND TO RECTIFY ANY ISSUES WE ALL MAY HAVE. WHILE THIS PERTICULAR CHAIR IS STILL CONSTRUCTED ON THE LOW COST END, WE MUST KEEP IN MIND WE GET WHAT WE PAY FOR, IT IN FACT WAS SOLD TO ME FOR A VERY AFFORDABLE PRICE BUT IS NO EXCUSE FOR MALFUNCTIONS. Overall a fairly decent chair, but lacking in a few areas.

For the price, it was a nice chair and feels pretty solid besides a couple of things that bother me but may not bother others. The good: - Chair feels pretty high quality - Spins and glides easily - Easy assembly - Leans back really far but also locks into place for sitting up with little leanback - fairly comfortable The bad: - Pneumatic piston started giving up after having it for only 5 months (I only weigh 180 lbs and use it for no more than 4 hours most days off the week.). The chair will start to fall 1/2 an inch after only about 15 minutes. Eventually, it gets to the point where it's half of the full height around an hour later. - armrests are not adjustable and that started to get annoying when I realized they were a bit too high for me (partially my fault for not looking at that before buying but still could have been something they added. Couldn't cost much more.) - no other levers for anything other than locking the position and raising/lowering the chair. - the warranty period sucks - there is no headrest which causes me to have to slump down a bit further if I want to rest my head when leaning back during gaming. Overall: I'd like it if the piston wasn't failing already, love it if the piston wasn't failing, the armrests were adjustable and there was a head rest and would absolutely love it if all of the above with a lifetime warranty. Either I got a defective piston unit or they used a super cheap, extremely low quality piston to make the chair more affordable, which is something I would argue as one of the more important components of a chair. Update: I emailed the seller and they are sending me a replacement piston because mine is most likely faulty. ... show more
