    • The silicone covers are too bulky and impede the use of the buckles.
Pros: The straps themselves work fine. They are long enough to tie down most items on a roof rack with extra strapping to spare. The buckles work well and are sturdy. Cons: The silicone buckle covers are a pain. They are just stiff enough to make it difficult to press the buckle release and are just thick enough to get in the way while trying to thread the straps through the buckle ends. The storage bag is just the right size for the straps - when they are rolled from the factory. After you have used the straps they are a pain to roll back up tight enough to get them back in the bag. I ended up cutting the silicone covers off after the second use and the buckles/straps work fine without them. ... show more

Straps are 1-1/8”, not 1-1/4” as advertised. Pretty small detail but worth mentioning. Otherwise straps seem great quality. Will use on boards soon

I used these to haul a 10 foot Christmas tree and they worked perfectly. Very well made, and the rubber protects vehicle from scratches.

I've used these a few times now, strapping a surfboard to the rack on top of my car. They haven't scratched the paint yet, and the first time I didn't tie them down too well and they banged the top of my car all the way to the beach. My bad. On the way home, I secured the straps so they didn't run close to the roof of the car, and they worked fine. They seem solidly constructed, work well, and look like they'll last a long time. The buckle is challenging at first, you might have to use both thumbs until they are used a few times, but they hold the straps in place and the material is very smooth, so they won't scratch anything. ... show more

These straps are exactly what I needed! They are made very well. The buckle on the straps is tight, but that's a good thing because you want straps to stay in place when traveling. I've used these a few times already to strap my kayak to the top of my car. Straps stayed really tight, even when traveling on the highway, and with a strong wind. The non scratch casing is great, no more scratching up my car with the straps. I love that the product was created by people who actually need and use the straps. To me that indicates that the creators care about the quality of the product and are going to produce a product that works really well.
