Overall its a pretty solid fish tank heater. I have 2 complaints, however. The gauge that they use as a visual aid for temperature adjustment is......extremely unintuitive. There's a bar that is white, and has "74-76" printed on it, for example, and as you turn the knob the bar turns to red. It's not a big deal, but for folks that throw away the instructions, it's a bit confusing how to actually read it for awhile. But my biggest issue with it, is simply the size. A 50 watt heater for a 10 gallon tank has ZERO reason to be this large. It's so tall it literally touches the layer of substrate in my tank (which is only an inch deep) and my tank is just a standard 10 gallon, no weird dimensions. Yes, it works, but if you have something with non-standard dimensions you might have issues. However, it gets up to temp very quickly (no surprise, it's a big heating element) and once up to temp, it maintains incredibly well. Dont hesitate to buy a higher wattage than you think you need (within reason). Sure, it'll draw more power, but....it will also have to run far less. I set mine to 78 degrees and i swear that aside from the initial heating, i've never even seen the power light on, and it stays locked in at exactly 78. It never fluctuates. Overall the performance is great, it functions flawlessly, i'm just not super impressed with the size. It seems like it could have easily been an inch or even 2 shorter, and still been sufficiently sized for the size tank it's for.

Works well in a 10 gallon tank. It was easy to set up and the suction cups hold strong. It's been working well for over a year now. Keeps temperature in the 70's. Easy to clean, when needed too.

Update: the HITOP team reached out to me immediately after writing this review, and offered a full refund for the broken product. They then reached out again to offer a brand new heater to replace the broken one. The team has been wonderful to work with, and they go the extra mile to help customers feel satisfied. I’m sure I got a faulty heater in the original package, as it was no fault of HITOP, but I so appreciate they made things right. The new heater works phenomenal. Original: After 9 years my original tank heater for my 10 gallon kicked the bucket. As I was going to redo my tank anyways, I ordered this heater but used two 5 gallon rated heaters for the mean time. Those two were able to keep the tank at a consistent 78° while the room is usually 68-69. Unfortunately I think I got a faulty heater as the light turns red but the heater itself is never warm, and my tank is getting colder.

Seems to work well. Had trouble getting the tempature adjusted so I didn't cook my fish. But seems to be at the right seeing now. Fish seem happier and swimming around lil more. Suction to side of tank works well.

This heats my tank well, but twice now I have come down to a cold tank. I do not know why it shuts off, and have had to restart it by cycling the power. Snce it is unreliable, I will need to purchase another heater.
