    • If Your Heater Has Fallen Over, This Is What You Need

Has your patio heater done a face plant? Does it look a bit bent out of shape? Does your patio heater put out heat like a blow torch on the uncrashed side...not so much on the crashed side? Assuming that the overall health and safety of the patio heater has been properly assessed first, this is what you need.     • What a nightmare.

The reflectors themselves are of decent quality and they fit my patio heaters perfectly—when I finally got them on. The problem is about an hour prior to that point when I first started peeling off the protective plastic that covers the four shiny metal sections underneath. Upon first opening the box and seeing the little sticker that warns you to ‘Remove protective sheeting before use’, your thoughts return to the cool little clear plastic stuff that covers new cell phone screens, TV’s. Computers, etc., they peel off so satisfyingly easily in one quick whoosh. Oh, no—not this stuff. It took me every bit of an hour to remove the miserably adhered unforgiving blue translucent plastic sheeting that was put on at the factory in hell where these things are made. It comes off in teeny tiny little staticky charged fragments that stick to your fingers and everything else they find. You can’t even get a knife under the edge to get it started, you have to pray for a minuscule little corner flake that will allow some minimal purchase, and when you find it you’ll get about an inch of the stuff with it if you’re lucky. And you have no choice but to go through this miserable ordeal because, if you don’t, the plastic will melt upon use and pretty much destroy the reflectors in about fifteen seconds. I would have sent them back after the first ten minutes if I hadn’t had a patio party planned that evening and I really needed my heaters. In retrospect, it would have been better to just freeze to death. I don’t know if the pricier alternatives come with a more forgiving protective coating or not, but I would gladly pay twice the price—or more— to avoid this lunacy. Bottom line, if I had known about this before I ordered them I would have moved on to the next listing, no matter the price. My time and sanity is far more valuable than any savings I thought I might have realized with these low cost things. Run. Run away now. ... show more

    • Worked as expected, Heater looks like new!

Item came well protected and was able to get on my heater by drilling one new hole. Old heater looks new again! 4/5 stars. Not 5 stars because the protective plastic was very difficult to get off (took me over 20min) and while they included hardware/bolts for the connecting pieces, there was no hardware for the main connection holes in middle. I used the old rusted ones but would have been nice to include 3 more sets of the bolts ... show more

Recieved different item than I ordered. The multi-part shield/reflector would have fit my heater, but I recieved the single piece shield. The part is the same size, but I had to drill my own holes and my heater has another top piece that won't fit now. Had to use it for a party, didn't have time to return it. Seems functional now, but shipping mix up was inconvenient and could have been worse. At least I could make what they sent me work. ... show more

Thankfully, the reflector shield comes out of the box assembled. When I first bought my outdoor heater, the reflector came in three different pieces and was a general pain to put together. Thankfully, this wasn't the case with this purchase and it fit on-top of the heater perfectly.

I knocked my patio heater over and the shield was badly bent. Trying to bring it back into shape only made it worse. Grudgingly I ordered this part. It fits perfectly and made my heater look like new, albeit for half the price of a new heater.

Bought this to replace a damaged shield on a patio heater I bought at Costco many years ago. The original manufacturer wanted almost $200 for a replacement. I did need to drill a few extra holes to make it work with my heater but it was very quick and easy to do. Now my 15 year old heater looks as good as new! ... show more
