This is a decent cover. It is pretty thin but it protects the heater. It is pretty thin and water does get through. Also, I had to tie mine to the pole of the heather or else it acted like a kite and knocked over the hater when the wind blew, even with a full propane tank it it.

    • Questionable Quality; Barely Comprehensible Assembly Instructions

A cautionary note: Unless you are exceptionally handy, this is not a product you want to attempt to assemble yourself. And certainly not alone. For starters, the assembly instructions are barely comprehensible; they were poorly translated into English. But beyond that (because it's not terribly difficult to piece together in your mind how the pieces should fit together, if you've spent your life assembling and disassembling things), the actual pieces of the unit are poorly machined. By that I mean that bolts don't do into their receptacles without undue force; the unit isn't naturally balanced; etc. Beyond that, the overall build quality seems unusually "thin" for something at this price point. This is nowhere near the heft of an outdoor heating unit you might see at your local restaurant. The coup de gras is that the unit I purchased was missing the "catch" for the latch that keeps the door (inside which the propane tank is stored) closed. I contact customer service, which was excellent and shipped the missing piece out to me immediately, at no cost. But the representative informed me that 90% of the units sold on Amazon are missing that piece, and that the company is aware of the issue. Granted, this is a product in which the market of non-commercial options is less than impressive across the board. Many don't work well by design, as those who have reviewed them have confirmed--and the best often heat only a very targeted space in close proximity to the unit. But this particular model enjoyed top reviews from credible sources. In the end, I think it's one of those things that isn't for everyone; is intended to perform a limited function during a limited period as a quasi-luxury item for those who live in colder climates but want to enjoy their backyards; and, unfortunately, just isn't great. The heater came just in time for a cold front. We had company and fired it up. We learned that we need to turn it on about 30 minutes ahead, so the grate gets really hot. It puts out a lot of heat, out to about 10 feet. We bought the cover, as well, and it fits perfectly. The heater took less than an hour to assemble with two people. We really like our new heater.     • Fell apart fast. I used as pattern to make my own.

The fabric is thin and cheap. Quickly faded to light brown (6 months) and was an eyesore. Then the fabric ripped. I ended up using it as a pattern to sew my own version with heavier outdoor duck fabric in black. Looks awesome.

Waited almost a year to review, but wanted to see how it stood the test of time weathering before I did. The product fit great and functioned well in the beginning. The cover was only exposed to the elements for the winter and early spring approximately 6 months if that, the rest of the time it was in my garage. I brought it out about a month ago and when trying to cover the heater the 2nd time it had become brittle and easily ripped, so thus the subtraction on stars. I still think 3 stars might even be a bit high to rate it after my use history and the cover lacking to hold up for a least the warranty period. I didn't even bother to try and get a replacment, so I cannot comment on how that would be. I just decided to spend that time searching to find a higher quality replacment. ... show more
