I installed this door without the provided tunnel in the kickplate of my pool cage. I feel it's a little flimsy for the $55 I paid. Installation was pretty straight forward, although I had to remove some material from the outside panel where it engaged the inside panel at the three latch points, again because I didn't use the tunnel (for standard thickness doors). It works fine, and our 5 mo old 25lb Australian Shepherd and Beagle mix had no trouble learning how to use it. The three latches work well enough, but the problem is that there is no visual clue for the dog that the door is latched, so our dog just slams into it like it's not latched. Because of this I expect the door will not last long, and I will need to consider an alternative or buy a second one of these for that eventuality. For now we're just going to put something in front of the door whenever we have to latch it, and hope our dog figures it out. Not super convenient for training purposes. ... show more

If you have the proper tools, installation is fairly easy. Quality is good. My two bone headed dogs learned how to get in and out in a day. Only significant issue is that strong winds , 25 mph or greater blow the door open and then it stays cracked open allowing snow and cold in. I assume rain will come in too but it is winter so that is untested. ... show more

Since day 1 the door has not shut fully without added weight. My one cat sneaks in behind my other cat to get into the room where more food is without the collar easily. I see why this door is no longer available.
