This set is perfect. The sizes and types of pans included work for so many things. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the price. It seems a bit high to me, but I’m not a professional chef so maybe I’m not the best judge. The skillet makes the best hamburgers - they get a perfect crust and don’t stick. The lid for the stock pot also fits the skillet, which is convenient. The skillet also doesn’t discolor, even after being used at high heat. The stick pot is a great size for pasta and soup. It’s also nicely balanced, making pouring easy and mess free. The small pan is great for making sauces and is my new go-to for nearly everything. In fact, three pans have been in constant use since I got them. I had to take the photos for this review first thing in the morning so I knew they wouldn’t be in use! These came beautifully packaged - the boxes are so nice they could be used as gift packaging. Anyone who loves to cook would be thrilled to get these as a gift. I have high hopes that these pans will last for a very long time.

Great value; exact set my son wanted for his birthday. He loves this set. Note: these are not nonstick—at least for cooking eggs—but he was already aware of that.

I have been gradually upgrading my kitchen with the help of my daughter who moved across the country to take a position at Hawaii's hottest new restaurant. She got trapped with us when things shut down, and so I have been taking advantage of her knowledge and having her check each new acquisition. When she saw this set she said that if my goal was to upgrade I could not do better than Hestan, noting that the executive chef at the restaurant she cooks for just outfitted his new restaurant with Hestan... and going on to mention that the chef he trained under, who is one of the most respected, also uses Hestan. I am not in their league, at all, but do respect their knowledge and wisdom re: all things kitchen. Our cookware was not an area which screamed for upgrading. I have rather a lot, and most of it very good, however, we used this for the first time last night and my husband commented on how good the heat distribution was, and that the handles never got hot. What stands out for me is that it can tolerate heat up to 1050 degrees and so can go from cook top to oven, even under the broiler. (and I love that it can be used on an induction burner.) It also has a lifetime warranty. The rims are sealed and flared for drip-proof pouring and the handles are shaped so they fit your hand perfectly. This is beyond ergonomic. Everything about these pans is well thought out, designed and built to the highest standards, in Italy (where both design and quality are paramount). Even though it is a high bar, there is no question but that this is the best cookware in the house, and my daughter said that if I can not find room for it she will gladly take it off my hands. Recommended and used by some of the top chefs in the world, and with features which will improve the cooking and experience of anyone. The last pans you will ever need, which makes them economical.

This is my first foray into a professional stainless steel cooking set. When unboxed, I was immediately impressed with the heftiness of this cookware, almost as robust as cast iron. The design and craftsmanship cannot be overstated. When checking out the overall performance, I noted that most foods cooked on a medium heat did cook well across all surfaces and clean up was generally limited to washing with hot water, making these seem almost non stick, even though stainless steel is not generally promoted as such. When I stretched its possibilities with a high heat and cooking with oil, the overall performance was superb with no uneven cooking surfaces or areas of different temperatures. The clean up was however somewhat more intensive since the high temperature of the oil tended to produce a gooey film that remained after clean up. While this might be expected to happen, I only make note that in some cooking instances the cookware might be a little more difficult to clean. However, I do not now, nor intend to put these through the dishwasher. The finish is a brushed and highly lustrous feature of this cookware and I suspect that a dishwasher would diminish that quality. I will continue to test out various cooking oils with higher smoke points, and am currently using peanut oil although there are others that have a higher smoke point. I hope to see if this makes a difference in the difficulty of cleanup. I will update this comment if I find a better alternative that reduces the gummy buildup from high heat. A cooking set of this professional quality will and does come with a sizeable price tag. I would say that if you are serious about having a professional set that will not need to be replaced in a few years, then this is definitely worth the price. I actually hope to pass these onto my daughters in the future. If you can afford it, this is actually a good buy as it doesn't seem like it will need to be replaced every several years. I would highly recommend.
