It works good. I like that is heavy but not super heavy. The cleaning is a little different than other pans but still easy to do it. I like how the food cook very well in the pan. The only thing is the rust outside the pan if you don’t put oil it gets very bad.

    • A classic cast iron skillet: size, weight, and handling are perfect
This is one of the best purchases I've made in a while. There is nothing fight like getting back to cooking in an iron skillet. This is exactly like the ones you remember growing up, not too thick or too heavy you can't navigate it, but substantial enough that you feel like you're truly cooking with cast iron. I've heated it the 500-plus degrees in the oven for a seared finish on steaks, and used it multiple times a day on the skillet, and it is as versatile as ever. I typically clean it by wiping or brushing it out, and use a teaspoon of coarse salt and a napkin to scrub any bits and excess oils out when there's build up (tough stuff I let sit overnight with a light layer of vegetable oil, then wipe out). A quick rinse, followed by heating to evaporate any moisture and a thin layer of oil/blast of cooking spray leave me ready for the next meal! ... show more
