  • Amazing!!
Color: Black
I'm going to stay with HAPPRUN for a long time. I've had a smaller projector from this brand, and I decided to purchase this bigger, brighter one to replace my previous one. This one did not disappoint me in its brightness and clarity. The projector also works incredibly well in the afternoons. It is much bigger, in that the unit is bigger, and the lens that it projects from is much larger; it is not as portable since it is big. It covers more of my living room, and it's way more intuitive than my previous model from HAPPRUN. (I don't remember exactly what model I had from HAPPRUN, but it was very good for the price at its time). This projector can stream most of my apps, but it does not have the streaming apps that I have, so I just use a spare Google TV stick when I want to stream my other streaming apps. I also love the speakers in it and how it has an automatic keystone and focus feature. It saves me so much time, and it doesn't leave me with a headache every time the projector moves. Overall, this thing is amazing, and I would choose this over any-sized TV any day. P.S. My phone doesn't do much justice to the projector since it's in a dark environment. ... show more

  • I'm not sure there's better within the price range when it comes to raw brightness
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. So, let's get one thing out of the way- some of the advertising and promises of the listing, as it's shown today, on March 18 2026, isn't accurate. This projector does not present an image upwards at the angle the listing shows like a traditional projector, it sends the image straight forward. In order to lift the image, you're going to have to use the prop up stand and make use of the digital keystone features, which degrades the image slightly and makes perfect focus hard to achieve. A good alternative is putting the projector high up on a shelf where it can make an image without having to use the keystone. Next, the listing advertises access to apps like Disney+, Peacock, Paramount or Hulu- this is wrong. There is a built in web browser that in theory should be able to navigate to the sites where you can log in and stream, but none of them work. You can, on some sites, do some limited streaming, but what few work, like YouTube, only allow 360p or lower content. Some fail to load videos at all even if the rest of the page loads. I don't think any of this is malicious or intentionally wrong, I think that the advertising branch at Happrun have just not touched base with their engineers to give an accurate set of expectations for what this projector is and can do. Here is what's accurate though: The projector is BRIGHT. The sound pretty darn good. What native apps it does have (Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube) work very well and have HDR support. The automatic focus works well enough and on the few instances it didn't for me, I was able to easily and quickly set it with the remote without leaving my seat. The Bluetooth features work and the audio lag is very forgivable. With that said, let's begin the review. I've been looking to find a replacement for my aging Epson Home Cinema 2100, it has a few glaring flaws I've been looking to correct in my entertainment setup. There's no wireless sound options, the casing of the old projector has resonance with some frequencies, causing audio distortion, and the screen once in a while flashes white. It's been a good 8 years, but it's time to get something else. Staying within a certain budget, I selected the Happrun KC7 Pro. It advertises the same high brightness the Epson has, which I ideally want. What I didn't expect is that it would blow the Epson out of the water and be even brighter. Yeah, you read that right, it's even brighter than the Epson. The colors aren't as true or accurate, there isn't nearly as many picture options to dial it in, but something THIS bright for under $500? Holy cow. Side by side, my Epson showed truer reds and greens, deeper blues, better skin tones- but if I didn't have them operating side by side, I think I would pick the Happrun KC7 Pro 90% of the time. I have a different Happrun projector (the Native 1080p model) I use for ceiling gaming that is WAY less bright and colorful, it's such a big upgrade from the older Happrun model I own. The only real issues I've seen are the slow response times that make it weak for gaming, that the HDR is too dark and needs the brightness increased to make out details in dark scenes, that color contrast, especially reds within reds, is a weak point of the Happrun KC7 Pro and that greens lean heavily toward too light. Playing with the image settings, I was able to improve the color contrast just by dialing back the saturation so certain details could be seen clearly again, but nothing I could do could fix the greens. In this price class of projector, all of these are fairly acceptable compromises. I don't think anyone expects a projector of this price to include white point/individual color adjustments. Moving forward, let's talk about sound. It's very good! I don't feel like I need to run out and grab a cheap soundbar or hookup speakers the way my old Epson 2100 made me want to. The bass isn't overly bloated, the speech is natural and has settings for dialogue enhancement, and the treble isn't harsh or grating. It just sounds good. This is where it decisively defeats my old Epson 2100. It just sounds better. Also, it has Bluetooth! And not the bad kind where the sound is wildly late so that lips don't match up with words, no, it's actually usable and something I have been frequently making use of for late night watching when my little girl is asleep in the room next to mine. I'm so happy it's there and that it works as well as it does. Next up, the built in apps and USB video. The 3 major apps (Netflix, Youtube and Prime Video) all work really well. They all have access to HDR (the built in HDMI ports DO NOT) but I find that I raise brightness and lower contrast to make out the details in crushed blacks instead of using the HDR as intended. Youtube has all features working through its app, including sped up video, something a lot of weak chipsets don't allow you to use (like old Roku streamers or cheaper lifestyle projectors). The USB video function is actually BETTER than advertised- the listing says it has H.264 and H.265, but it also has full 10-bit support of AV1 and VP9! This means encoding larger movies into smaller file sizes and is a great feature for those of us that have digital collections they want to keep on demand simply plugged into their projector. Every file I played was able to fast forward and rewind without getting stuck, subtitles worked as well. Subtitles are on by default (when available) while videos play, the text size and color options didn't work for them and I couldn't find a way to turn the subtitles off, but you can offset them such that they don't show on screen anymore, so it's not necessary to re-encode your collection with and without subtitles. Last, optics. One thing I wish all of these manufacturers would do is tell us the throw ratio- when projecting a 60" diagonal picture, I got a 1.3 to 1 throw ratio (I was roughly 68" from the wall). The minimum throw distance I got was 43" and any closer the focus wouldn't be able to produce a sharp image. This projector doesn't have the best focus for images offset horizontally, but vertically? It's amazing. The breadth of decent focus you could get aiming this thing up and down is pretty dang good, I'm thoroughly impressed. If you can have this projector lined up straight on your Z and X axes, you don't have to worry much at all about focus on the Y axis- this is the main reason I'm not too upset about the marketing issues I mention at the top of my review. I could get rid of the box and the book, aim the projector up with its prop leg, keystone the picture and be good. Yeah, the side to side isn't great, definitely keep your projector perpendicular to the wall, but the vertical focus is one of the best I've seen for a projector of this price bracket. My older Happrun 1080p just can't compete, how did they improve their optics so much? I'm not happy that I'm not getting the full advertised 1080p image when I have to use the keystone and prop leg, but the post processing and image correction is pretty robust for what it is. Unless you're pixel peaking or reading a lot of small, fine text, you're good. For someone that demands a perfect image, you're likely not even looking at a projector in this price range anyhow. It's not very portable compared to lifestyle projectors since there's no built-in gimble, so be sure to find a place it would be best long term in your home rather than moving it around place to place. TL;DR It's a very bright, good sounding projector with some lag, color and app limitations, but with some great features and excellent focus on the vertical axis. It's not great for gaming or faithful cinema representation, but if brightness and budget are your main concerns, I'm not sure there's anything better in this price bracket, it's unparalleled. It takes a much more expensive projector and literally side by side comparisons, to expose its several weaknesses (while also reinforcing that high high brightness). If you can ignore the lack of Disney, Hulu, Peacock or Paramount (just use a spare cheap streaming stick) then you can be certain you're getting a very good projector for the price. ... show more

  • Finally, a projector that actually does what it says it’ll do!
Color: Black
I’ve been wanting to upgrade my home setup for a while, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with this HAPPRUN. I was a little nervous about whether it would actually be bright enough, but man, this thing is a beast. The first thing that blew me away was the auto-focus. I’m usually the person struggling for ten minutes to get the picture clear, but this just did it for me the second I turned it on. It felt like magic. I just pointed it at my wall, and within seconds, it was perfectly sharp and squared up. No fiddling required. The built-in Netflix is the real MVP here though. It’s so nice to just turn the projector on and start watching without having to find a HDMI cable or plug in a separate streaming stick. Everything is just there. And because it has WiFi 6, I haven't seen a single loading screen or lag spike, even when watching stuff in 4K. It’s just smooth. Brightness-wise, it’s incredible. Even with a couple of lamps on in the room, the colors stay super vibrant and the picture is crisp. It honestly feels like I have a massive, high-end cinema screen in my house now. The sound is also surprisingly solid—it’s got that deep, Dolby quality that actually fills the room, so I didn't even feel the need to hook up extra speakers. If you’re looking for something that’s easy to use, super bright, and just works perfectly right out of the box, this is it. I’ve been showing it off to everyone who comes over. Easily one of the best things I’ve bought in a long time! ... show more
