The wood is the softest wood around. Probably pine. So I’m not sure how long it’ll last if we move it around too much. Yes I purchased this for ducks. We redid the whole coop. We added wood and redid the top and it was literally too short for ducks and ducks cannot get up the ramp. The wood it comes with came broken in some areas....it is good if you want to build on to the coop. Now my ducks are happy....we only have 2 ducks any more then that is too many for this coop. ... show more

The hutch is really cute and easy to assemble. The clear roof part is made of thin & hollow plastic material. The wood is very light, very thin, and super fragile. Some parts cracked as the screws went in. It rained the day after I built it and right away I could see water damage on the roof. I put a plastic cover over it but I doubt it will last. While putting it together the wood splits very easily. Then when moving it, gently if I may add, the entire plexi roof came off with the framing splitting into multiple pieces. The nest box roof latch isn’t secure, the hinges easily come apart when opening. I got two and they both have the same issues. ... show more
