I had one of these but gave it to my daughter and her husband after they got a pellet smoker. I ordered another one. I like a heavier smoke flavor and the pellet smoker was not satisfying. I bought this to add the flavor. It does not replace the traditional smoking, but it works well. I have a pellet smoker because of my busy schedule. This helps a lot. If you like more smoke flavor and not satisfied with your pellet smoker, this will help. I would highly recommend it. As far as a gas or electric grill, I do not know.     • A Simple Product that Works
The Grizzlelt just works great. I had used a spiral cold smoker with sawdust on several occasions and it simply would not stay lit. Microwave the sawdust; tea candles; torches; nothing would keep it going. Fill this one up with pellets, let it burn for five minutes, blow it out, and it will create major smoke for hours. You need to make sure you don't overdo it, it works so well. Also, just a tip, no matter what smoker you're using, don't smoke cheese in warm weather. It's ugly. Good sturdy product. Seems well made. Should last a long time. Includes a cleaning brush, but I'm not sure you need to clean these. Perfect for adding lots of smoke to your recipes.

    • Works fine but...
I like this simple tool...allows me to combine wood pellets and my kettle-type grill to get smoky flavor. Here's my advice: unless you are smoking a big-ass brisket or pork butt, don't fill it up all the way. On a trial run I filled it just about 2/3rds with pellets and then lit it with my propane torch. I let the fire burn about 5-6 minutes then blew out the flame. The tube put out good smoke for 3 hours +. For all but the long, 10-12 hour cooks it should work great. ... show more
