I have installed roughly 2,000ft of these lights, and they are an amazing product and value. Even in side by side comparisons against professionally installed lighting these lights 100% compete - its all about preference. Many professionally installed systems are designed to show the actual LED when illuminated. This Govee product, however, faces downward and creates a cone of light on your house - no visible bulb unless viewing from below i.e. second story. The product was well packaged with easy to understand instructions. Plenty of additional support available online. I used their help line the first time I installed the product to go over some technical information and they were extremely helpful. The 3M adhesive on the back of the LEDs is no joke. The kit also includes clips that can be added with a screw( the adhesive on these is good enough to free a hand up, but that's about it). There are not many clips included, maybe one for every 4-5 bulbs? Maybe less? I originally purchased an additional 500 clips and used one per puck on two separate systems. When it came time to do my own house with the 200ft kit, I decided to try only using the adhesive on each LED and zero clips. After a year of Nebraska seasonal changes the lights look as good as they did when installed. I still use clips sporadically when installing for others, can also be helpful for splices and holding wire tight. The only thing I don't like about these lights is no available channel from Govee to hide the wire between lights. Color matching the eaves is easy enough, but for a really sharp look running a piece of vinyl (or whatever surface your working with) between the pucks is the way to go. Raceway channel or something similar is the solution I've come up with when requested. Pretty small gripe that is solved through other methods, just think they are missing the $! Make it plastic, on a roll, with adapters that snap over the pucks. Wiring between peaks, around windows, etc. can potentially require splicing. Have a good pair of small wire strippers and the included connections are easy enough to figure out. One thing to be aware of is each time you splice, you are adding resistance to a low voltage system. Too many splices and you could end up needing additional boosters. I found this out doing a funky roof with lots of transitions and splices. You will also obviously need accessible power. Can simply be an extension cord tucked behind a gutter or most conveniently plugged into an attic or soffit outlet. I add a water proof 9"x11"x5" access panel for power sources plugged in outside, there is quite a bit of cord to hide. The Govee app has a lot going on, but with a few tutorials you can have your lights programmed the way you want. There are tons of premade scenes/styles while its also super easy to create your own. YouTube is full of ideas. One reason I love Govee is how easy it is to integrate their products together. I have 10 different Govee models around my house, and I can easily control all or one of them instantly. Setting a timer to use my outdoor lights as security lighting is a great feature. These aren't the lights with questionable quality. This is a great product with excellent tech support. If you like the look of the Govee light cone, this is worth every penny!

The media could not be loaded. These lights are great! The installation kit came with everything to make the look like a professional install. Their ability to be cut and spliced made it easy to put lights exactly where we wanted them and jump between spaces where we didn’t want any lights. The installation instructions were clear and complete. They lit up first try! They have worked perfectly for over 9 months. They come with great built in scenes for almost any occasion. We like being able to make custome colors and sequences for our kids birthdays with their favorite color or school colors for school events.

Update: Govee sent a full replacement set so i am updating my review back to 5 stars Original review: At first I was very pleased with these lights. They looked great on the house and worked for approximately two days. Then the controller stopped working, and the lights cannot be connected to or turned on manually with the single button. Have been trying to reach out to Govee support. If they fix or replace my controller I will update my review, as of now it is a waste of money unless i give up on Govee and purchase a third party power supply and controller.

The media could not be loaded. Ordered the 200ft kit on 2nd of December and it took 4 days longer to get here than the Govee Curtains I ordered. Govee doesn't not supply enough clips to clip every LED in a string only 5 clips which is half of what you need. For the cost you'd think they would give you enough. The LEDs have 3M adhesive on the back of them, but that is not a permanent solution for so called permanent outdoor lights. You MUST prep the surface for the adhesive, use rubbing alcohol they will not stick well to an unprepped surface! So you will need to buy more clips. The clips they do supply have adhesive on them to and screws that are threaded for metal and not plastic soffits. If you you need to splice any of the light strings, which for most this will need to be done at least once if not more, you will need to also buy a wire stripper ( $20 ) unless you are really good at splitting and stripping wires out of an unsegmented line. Why Govee didn't use a segmented wire insulation on the Pro version like they did on non-pro ones is beyond me. The positive and negative wires are 22 gauge and the signal wire is 24 gauge. The instructions are a joke and barebones. You'll be much better served going on YT and watching a bunch of videos to learn about the limitations and what configurations work or don't work. For example if you need to make a 'Y' split. There is no explanation of what the different modes of the light on the power adapter mean. It took me about 5hrs to put up 10 of the 12 strings that I needed along with using 2 of the 12ft extensions and 2 of the 4ft extensions that came in the kit. You currently can not buy extra parts or items to these kits. I would recommend using a cherry picker if you have two story house or a lot apexes to do. I got the lights up and working with Govee Home app right away and tested out some different light patterns before settling on one... About 3hrs of running they just shut off. I went out and checked the controller and power adapter and the PA green light was not solid it was blinking green. Tried to connect to the controller via the Govee Home app and it would not connect and just failed (I know it wasn't an app problem or Wi-Fi one because I could connect to my Govee Curtains still). I unplugged both the PA and controller from the outside strings and brought them in the house. Plugging the PA and controller into just one string of left over known good lights and would still not work. I then unplugged the PA from the controller and the PA went solid green like it should be, plugging it back in to controller it went blinking again. Leaving both unplugged for 15 minutes did not fix issue, neither did trying to hold in the button on the controller to reset it. So, in less time than it took for me to install all the lights the controller had failed! Contacting Govee support was game of tag trying to get them to send out a new part. First representative I contacted via their support email wanted video of the issue which I provided then said they would send a replacement only for me to never hear back from him. I then contacted Govee through their 'rapid response' support via the Govee Home app and had to go through the same ropes with this rep. and then they said they would replace the controller. I told them I wanted it sent overnight or 2 day air because it wouldn't get here in time for holidays if not. Of course they sent it cheap regular DHL freight. Wasted 5 days playing tag with them to send me a new one! In short I regret buying this overpriced & poorly made product from a company with just as bad customer service. Would not buy this again and suggest looking for another brand for others. The only thing Govee can get 1/2 a star for is the app, I found it easy to use but others have left reviews of how they dislike it ( shrug ). (NOTE: The video needed to be taken with lights off in the room so to see the PA blinking green it is so faint.) UPDATE: Got tracking info from DHL and the replacement controller is coming from China. This means Govee has NO REPLACEMENT PARTS in the US!
