I love the oven mitts. Great when pulling out a turkey, large roast, just checking meats temp and need that extra protection. Heat can still be felt through the grips and the potholders. Not enough heat for concern, I still use them for everything. I am really impressed with grips. From holding a hot cast iron pan handle, a spoon, pulling pans out of the oven...to opening a stuck bottle lid. The pot holders, as always are great. Along with the standard uses I use the pot holders as a spoon rest. It is the easiest spoon rest I have ever cleaned. I threw away all my pot holders and oven mitts after I had these for 2 weeks. Easy to clean. Sanitary. I bought a set for a friend. A week later she told me all her old pot holders and oven mitts were also in the trash.

While this set has fully protected me from burns so far, I have definitely felt too much heat through them at times, and usually avoid using them. I find myself still reaching for a folded kitchen towel to handle hot items instead of anything from this set. My boyfriend likes using this set, though, rather than a folded towel, so it may just be personal preference. The flat mats/potholders have protected our countertops from any burning or melting, and pans do not skid off of them if you're scooping out of the vessel set on top of them.

I bought this for the finger tip potholders, but the gloves are fantastic. Heat resistance on the trivet and the finger tip potholders is not as good as I'd like. But overall I'm happy I got this set, and everything will be useful. Also, they all look really nice.
