I’m giving this 4 stars, because like other reviews, this came dented. Luckily I was able to get the dent out with my hand and a rubber mallet, so I kept it. Really nice garbage can though. You can push the lid farther back afree opening it, and it will stay up so it’s not falling back down while you’re trying to take the full bag out. The design of the garbage can kind of tricks you into not overfilling it (I overfilled my old garbage can all the time) it has a rim that covers the edges where you roll the bag over so it hides that for you, you have to lift the rim to get the bag out. The pedal works great. And it’s very sturdy, my 60lb daughter has already climbed on top of it to get to the cereal cabinet. ... show more

I am so glad I got this for my galley kitchen. I am in my 60s and it just works well for me. The lid is QUIET when shutting....the foot pedal is quiet and easy to do for me. Love the pewter color goes well in my kitchen ...the height is perfect and this can is larger than I expected to hold more garbage than I was used too, which is a good thing. Easy to put in the bags around the silver ring INSIDE to hold bags well..no more sinking bags into trashcan. The only ding against it is I think it would be helpful to have indented 'handles' on the sides of the can. MINOR detail. Otherwise this can will last years with regular use, just dont be hard on it to make it last. ... show more

After going to my local Target and seeing the selection of really poorly made trash cans made of plastic for nearly the same price, I took a risk and bought this based on the reviews. At first I was a bit skeptical of the way the bag is held down by the metal bars but after a few weeks I haven't encountered any issues and the bag stays firmly in place. It might take a few extra seconds to change the bag but this trash can keeps everything looking tidy and clean. It offers two ways to remove the bag, most the time I have to lift the upper lid to get the bag out, but again not really a huge inconvenience for something that really hides everything inside the can and under the lid. The extra bag holder in the back of the can is unnecessary for my use but may provide some extra benefit for someone else. ... show more

This Glad Stainless Steel Step Trash Can is the one kitchen trash bin you need and be "Glad" you bought. We recently upgraded from a 13 gallon bin that finally broke on the step mechanism to open the lid. Could not repair it even with YouTube! This 20 gallon bin is the perfect size for daily kitchen trash and clean up. Wide opening by either the step or by lifting the lid with automatic return to close it. Great addition to the kitchen sink-disposer/island counter and dishwasher kitchen triangle. Definitely purchase the Glad 20 gallon bags designed to fit this bin when you order it. Bags are not included with the trash can. These bags are reasonably priced and tough. They easily carry a heavy compacted load of trash to take to the garbage can. You will appreciate the extra 7 gallon of trash capacity. A strong 5 on this product - lower reviews were due to damage in shipment and not to the product quality. Ours came shipped in the original packaging with corner reinforcement with thick cardboard packaging. Shipped in excellent condition by Amazon.
