5 Stars to the can and also the maker! 1) This has worked great in our home and held up for nearly 2 years to a family of 9. That’s durable! It looks good, and the interior “bag trap” brackets are great to keep the bag hidden and snug from getting shoved down when trash is put in. 2) When the plastic lid hinge broke I emailed the warranty team for a remedy, and they immediately and courteously sent a whole new can UPS. Amazing! The service team was efficient and kind and followed up multiple times. That’s huge! Great job to the Glad can team! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This trash can is AMAZING. It is everything we’ve been looking for but isn’t sold in stores. We got the 20 gallon pewter Can and it looks nice with everything in the kitchen. The stepping mechanism works very well and is very smooth. The lid opens up to less than a 90 degree angle (see video and pic) which I love because then it doesn’t slam on the wall or counter when you open it. It also closes very smoothly so there isn’t a loud clanking noise as it drops. I’ve heard this fits the Glad 20 gallon bags perfectly but for now we’ve been using leftover 13 gallon from our old smaller trash can (which SUCKED). They still fit well in the opening and this 20 gal trash can gets you way better use out of a 13 gal bag than a 13 gal trash can does. My husband usually takes out the trash twice a day, minimum. With this, and still the 13 gal bag, it’s been almost 2 days and he hasn’t had to take it out yet. We are going to keep an eye on the smell because of the material the lid is made of (like plastic trash cans before stainless steel was all the rage) but wiping the lid down regularly and using scented trash bags seems to be doing the trick so far. If you’re worried about this being too large for your kitchen, you’d have to have a very tiny kitchen for it to be too big. It’s wide enough to be the perfect size for fitting in a good amount of trash, but not so wide that it takes up a noticeably larger amount of space. We keep it in the same spot as our old 13 gal can and it looks just as good. ... show more

They are great garbage cans and fit the aesthetic I was going for. But it was all dented up. I didn’t take the time to return it bc I needed it. So just be cautions of that. Which I’m sure if a shipping issue not a supplier issue.

I spent a long time trying to find a large enough kitchen trash can (everything is usually so tiny), and I found this one. The color is nice and it's solid. Also is a great size. My only issue is when I'm taking out a full bag of trash - that can be a bit on the tricky side. I don't really know how to describe the process. But before you can lift the whole top up, you have to lift up this wire rim thing to unsecure the bag and then you can put the lid back down to lift the whole thing back up so you can pull the bag out but the bag can get caught on stuff which can tear open the bag. I normally am not someone that leaves reviews but this garbage can deserves 10+ stars. I never knew I could love a garbage can like I love this one. Perfect in every way. Not too big to go in your kitchen, yet big enough to hold garbage for a family of 5, without having to change the bag every single day. You can pack the bags full and they do not get stuck. In addition it is designed to not be able to touch the lid, which keeps it clean and free of debris. Great loading system that stores bags and the bags can not be seen while lid is closed. Not a deal breaker, but does take 20 gallon bags which are not found in every store…:no big deal if you are a regular online shopper. Stop looking and buy this can. Worth every penny!!! ... show more

I love this thing! It’s slick, large, stays clean due to the way it’s built. Easy to wipe off when needed. Don’t have to use the large sized bags, regular sized bags work fine - I had several left over from the garbage can I was replacing with this one that I didn’t want to waste. I replaced a fancier garbage bag with the sensor raising lid — this pedal operated one is so much better. I will never buy one of those annoying sensor ones again. And this can is so well built it will last much longer than my previous one. ... show more

Update: already have a dent in the trash can. So the durability is questionable! Nothing major so far just a small dent that is fixable, so we will see how it holds up long-term with a baby/toddler running around! Our FAVORITE trash can. The black stainless color matches almost perfectly with our SAMSUNG black stainless steel appliances, which is what we were concerned about when ordering! All the reviews warned that we would receive this damaged or dented but we figured we would take the chance because it was the largest & most attractive one we could find for our kitchen’s color scheme. So when it arrived with the box sort of messed up & clearly opened a few times we were shocked but ecstatic that it came flawless! It takes a few tries to get used to the way you insert & secure the trash bags, it is best to get 30 gallon bags in my opinion to get it plenty of room to secure under the braces. The only thing I still can’t figure out is how to roll up trash bags effectively enough to pull out of the sides so we just use the top flap to pull them out of which is no big deal but worth nothing! Not sure I agree with how expensive this trash can is but I don’t necessarily agree with the price of smaller, less attractive regular stainless steel trash cans either so I can’t say it’s not worth it in comparison. ... show more
