Love this trashcan, works great! Value for money is good too for all you get with it. At first, I simply wanted a new stainless trashcan similar to my old one that had a broken pedal and a bit of rust inside the lid. I even considered one w/ automatic open sensors, but decided against that b/c its just something else that might break over time. One like I had with a pedal will do fine. Anyway, the more I thought about it, this GLAD pewter colored, stainless can looked much more aesthetic and stylish in my kitchen. Its a standard 13-gallon size, though they also have this in 20-gallon size as well, and for about the same price. Since its a GLAD brand name, the build quality seems to be very good, so it should hold up to its name. I also love the fact that it also has a compartment in the rear to store about 15-20 additional trashbags, so you don't have to walk far to replace your bags once you empty it. This thing is a beast. It feels really solid without being too heavy. It looks nice and fits standard trash bags well. It can be a bit cumbersome to use at first but once you figure out how to use it, it's quite simple. I am embarrassed to say this, but I never thought I could get this excited about a garbage can. It's actually bad for the environment, because this can makes it a pleasure to make trash. The 20 gallon is a perfect kitchen size- big but not obtrusive. We aren't emptying the garbage constantly because of a stupid 13 gallon can. The stainless seems to be good quality and has weight to it. It doesn't dent easily. The lid is very light, which is a good thing because there is very little leverage acting against the foot pedal. This makes it pop open instantly when you push the pedal and it doesn't feel sluggish or like there is a lot of internal stress when mashing on the pedal. The lid is soft close, but it also has a hold open feature. If you push the pedal and then open the lid all the way, it sits nicely in the open position. This is nice if you are cooking and tossing things at the garbage from across the room. Just flip the lid forward from the up position and the soft close mechanism catches it and guides it to rest closed. This is a really nice feature that I didn't realize it had from the order page. Finally, there is an excellent bag retention system inside the can. The lid has two stainless ribs that pivot from the center and capture the edges of the bag. It works awesome. When you put in a new bag, just fold over each half of the outer edge of the bag over the stainless ribs and they fall right into place and pinch the top of the bag against the underlying can lid. This holds the bag tightly in place and you don't need to tie a knot in the bag and stretch it over the rim or otherwise wrestle with the bag. To remove the bag, simply lift the stainless ribs and the bag top just slips right out. Tie it up as usual. Then, lift the whole plastic lid assembly which tilts back, and you just grab the bag and pull it out. When you tilt the plastic rim assembly up, all it leaves are the slick stainless sides so the bag comes right out. I can't account for the reviewer that said you needed 3 hands to get the bag out. I take it out with one hand. Overall, this is an awesome garbage can and I can't believe I didn't buy it sooner. ... show more

I’ve had this garbage can for 5 years now and I’ve finally decided it’s time to write my review. GET. THIS. TRASH. CAN. you will not regret it. First of all, it’s HUGE! We use 30 gallon bags in it which we buy in bulk from Costco. Score. Secondly, it’s super easy to clean. I like to use my hand vacuum to get any crumbs or debris. The outside is easy to clean too. I used the extra garbage bag storage compartment for a bit, but where I have it positioned in my kitchen, it’s easier not to store them there. Last, it’s metal so it’s magnetic! I found some strong magnetic plastic shelves to put on the side to hold extra stuff. I def recommend this product. It lasts! ... show more
