This was fairly easy to assemble but once it's complete the walnut "finish" is starting to chip off. The boards are labeled like most furniture you have to assemble with little stickers, but the walnut coloring was done after so once the sticker is removed there's a round area that is lighter than the surrounding wood color. The shelves also mount in such a way that they are not level. Some lean forward, some lean back. Overall this would be nice if it properly made but the fact that the shelves aren't even level is just cheap. ... show more

This ladder shelf was purchased to replace a bulky stand. The shelf was easy to assemble, is sturdy, and holds the items that I need without taking up a lot of space. It is a very attractive furniture piece and I am pleased with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this shelf to others.

    • Very poorly prepped for assembly
Let me start with the good: the shelf is nice looking, made of real bamboo, how great is that? BUT: the video for assembly...a joke. THEIR wholes must have been drilled right, meaning their position and the size of the openings. First of all - you are not going to accomplish anything with the tiny tool they enclosed, let alone start doing anything by hand!!. You need a sturdy phillips...no, take it back - a cordless electric drill/screwdriver. After the first attempt of just using the phillips screwdriver I found out the hard way I could only drive some of the screws partially in. Upon inspection I noticed the piece started to splinter from me forcing the screw in because the pre-drilled holes are not aligned! I am only half way thru and dreading going further, there's a possibility that close to completion something WILL crack and fall apart...after I will have invested all the time and frustration in it.
