  • Great piece of equipment
Grip Type: 1. IG 80 Light (55~176lbs)
This is a well made piece of equipment that will last years. The all metal construction gives it a cool industrial look. It's made in Korea and it shows. The adjustable weight settings allows for continued muscle development. Which is great considering this grip on the expense side. My only negative is the knurled handles due hurt your hands but that can be mitigated by wearing gloves. ... show more

  • Masterpiece!
Grip Type: 3. IG EXT 90 (55~198lbs, Handle Exte...
The best grippers I've ever used, by far. Solid build, excellent ergonomics, straightforward adjustments. The price is high, but justified. I started with a pair of the 90s, but found I didn't need the extension or the extra 22lbs. of resistance (I should have listened to other reviewers who said as much). These offer much more resistance at their 84lbs setting than a far cheaper adjustable plastic gripper at its supposed 80lbs., so bear that in mind if you're testing cheaper ones at a box store to determine the max resistance you need like I did. I did not test either to determine the accuracy of their given settings' poundage. Just know that these grippers are harder than one other new cheaper pair. Other reviewers write that they've had similar experiences. Finally, the lowest setting (55lbs) matches the resistance on my old gripper in the picture that's been well used for about 10 years. After a brief test, I returned the 90s thru Motofitusa & Amazon easily and only had to pay return shipping (around $6 FL to NY). I then got a pair of the the 80 Lights on prime day for nearly $10 off each, saving roughly $53 total. On both the 90 and 80 Light, the knurling is the same and ideal: small crosshatch size matches the exercise (for example, dumbbell knurling is a larger and deeper crosshatch and barbells sometimes are even larger and deeper than the dumbbell knurling). I had a much better grip on the 80s than my old plastic grippers, and it did not hurt my hands or damage my skin. Lastly, there is a good jump in resistance levels, but I plan to further break the 6 levels of resistance into 18 levels using the 3 levels of grip size. If I can't do the largest grip size at the next highest resistance level, I'll simply close the grip size to the smallest setting, simultaneously increasing the leverage of my grip and reducing the range of motion in order to complete the exercise. As strength grows, I'll increase the grip size to the medium level and finally the largest level, and then repeat for the next resistance level--pretty straightforward progressive strength training. Thanks again to Motofitusa for a stellar product. ... show more

  • Great product for grip exercises
Grip Type: 3. IG EXT 90 (55~198lbs, Handle Exte...
This is a great product, and a very high quality build. My only complaint, and it is minor, is that the knurling on the handles is pretty aggressive and takes some time to adjust. The weight is easily adjusted, as well as the pull length, and this model gets pretty heavy (198 lbs / 90 kg max).

  • Extremely impressed
Grip Type: 2. IG EXT 80 (55~176lbs, Handle Exte...
Amazing. Possibly the highest quality manufactured item I've ever bought on Amazon. It's also basically an art piece with the stand. Having it sit on your desk looks good, and reminds you to use it more frequently. Works great, has a fantastic amount of options and settings for different grip widths and strengths. Pretty ingenious and absolutely worth the price. ... show more

  • Exceeds expectations-- quality product made in Korea
Grip Type: 3. IG EXT 90 (55~198lbs, Handle Exte...
Much better quality than expected! Fit and finish is great. Materials seem high quality. The mechanism on the top both locks the difficulty adjustment to keep it from falling down, and can be used to adjust the width between handles, pretty clever. The springs are sized so they never compress all the way, so you can't pinch yourself. I bought this, paying more than buying a couple of simple spring devices thinking I'm paying just to save space, but after using it, seeing it's made in Korea and understanding how it works, I think it would also be suitable for a gift. Really happy with my purchase. The knurling gives it an aggressive grip, this isn't for delicate hands. ... show more

  • silicone grips is comfortable and grippy. plus 12 positions instead of 6!
Grip Type: 4. IG 12LV SILICONE GRIP (26~181lbs)
just got it today and did my 1st workout with the silicone grips with 12 positions. glad I seen it after I ordered the regular 70 with 6 positions. I was worried about the silicone grips but they are comfortable and grippy. its easy and quick to change to a different setting. I read that the top latch would come undone sometimes when using them upside down. I have not ran into this issue today. I had a few heavy grip grippers and only have the 100lb and 150lb left so was limited in what I had and this thing looks great and feels great. im bringing this to work tomorrow! only complaint which im sure many have this as a con but nonetheless this still is worth purchasing is that you can't fully close the gripper with the handles touching. im debating on taking it to my work and have someone professional grind the tabs down. this is what its 4 stars. be a solid 5 with the tabs would allow the grips to touch. ... show more

  • Beautiful Tank
Grip Type: 2. IG EXT 80 (55~176lbs, Handle Exte...
Not saying anything new here, but just to echo other reviews with my experience: this thing is a beautiful tank. Very smooth, very sturdy, and very effective. Like others, I was about to buy more of the $7 cheap plastic ones that threaten to throw springs and plastic in your face when they inevitably explode, when I saw the Iron Grip. I took some time to try and figure out which model (80 or 90) and whether I wanted the extensions and stand base. Decided to go with the 80 with the extension. I have medium glove hands, so as others have said, I didn’t need the extensions for comfort. However, this thing has some serious resistance and only 6 slots, and I’ve found that the extensions are great for working up to a new weight. You can start all the way down at the extensions with your grip which makes it a bit easier, then progressively move upwards on the handles towards the spring, making it harder. The 90 was tempting as it offers higher resistance, but honestly I don’t know if I’ll ever make it that far. Not using this for any weight lifting competitions, just strengthening my hand decades after metacarpal surgery, and generally strengthening my arms, so I won’t need nearly 200lbs of resistance. But if I do, this thing is so gorgeous and well made, I’d be more than happy to pony up again, this time for the big boy. ... show more
