This is no different than all the others in the same price range (~$200). I like how it came well packaged in custom fitted foam. All the screws were already in the places they were supposed to go so it was very easy to figure out where they went and you didn't have too look for the screw with each piece. It bolts together with lot of reinforcement and it feels incredible strong. This design is inherently more bottom heavy and has a smaller sail on the top than the common mushroom shaped tower heaters so I think it will work better in wind. Also the wind doesn't affect the combustion chamber like those models so again much better for wind. What could be better. 1. I can't say for sure but I strongly suspect the tube is glass not quartz. The seller contacted me to insist it is made from quartz sand so perhaps I'm mistaken however Quartz lets IR light out so if it were quartz I would expect that that the moment it is turned on I'd feel the heat of the flame, but instead I don't till it's been on a while and thus heating the glass which is radiating a little. 2. It has noticeable but modest radiative heat from the lower tube section. 3. Not every hole is formally a drilled tapped hole but in some cases it punched yet these are tapped for machine screws. unlike the cheaper mushroom-heaters one sees they use quality bolts not sheet metal screws since these holes are tapped. There are no Stop-nuts or star washers so one expects these to work loose over time and heating. therefore I bought a tube of thread lock and used it on every bolt as I put it together. It used up a whole bottle of thread lock. 4. It takes a lot of time to assemble even though it's very straightforward. Part of this time is undoing the mistakes I inevitably made as I went along, as the diagrams in the manual are small and ambiguous. These drawings are perfectly sufficient if you have already assembled this before and thus know the pitfalls. But the first time you may encounter the same ones I did. here's a couple. A). The bottom and middle plates look symmetric, and nominally they are because you can assemble it with them in any relative orientation, but the bottom has wheels on one side and the middle has magnets on one side. You need to orient the wheels opposite from the magnets. B). When you first assemble the base and sides and middle there's two different sets of bolts you could use. One of these is to use the ones that are pre-screwed into the posts. The other are the ones that are intended to hold the side panels. When you first look at it, it seems like the side panel bolts are the obvious ones to be using to hold the plates to the upright posts. This is wrong! 5. there are two difficult steps in an otherwise simple assembly. A) sliding the upper posts onto the steel guides extending from the lower posts. You MUST get these sleeved together so they lock in place. Since these are really snug sleeves this is a very fiddly operation and takes a bit of force and a little bit of bending to get them to line up. It's very easy to think you got it right and then simply use the screws to secure these to the plates. Do Not do that! Take your time. If it's easy you did it wrong. B) even a long bladed, thin handled Phillips screwdriver could not reach one of the bolts on the middle tier at a good square-on angle needed to not strip the head. I found that by removing the stainless steel base plate on top of the middle base I could then reach these bolts at a good angle for not stripping their heads. I could then replace the stainless steel plate after finishing that. 6) there is one error in the instructions. It's the very last step showing the handle going on the removable plate. The diagram shows the chain attachment point oriented up. This gets in the way of closing and the chain slips off the hook too if you orient it this way. INstead you must orient it with that tab facing down. ANyhow. I enjoyed the project of putting it together because it's a pleasure to work with well crafted and well packaged kits. Other than the lack of star washers To lock the bolts I would say everything is top quality because all the holes line up perfectly, all the screws are screwed in ahead of time so you know none of the screw holes are stripped when you get it. All the screws are the same size so nothing is confusing. So Very well engineered. Looks beautiful and enigmatic standing there. And is glorious to watch when flaming. It does emanate some heat laterally, just not as much as I expected. Since quartz is expensive my guess it these things cheat by using glass (even the ones that say stainless are not actually stainless.-- so they cut corners and lie in the description at this $200 price range.). But maybe I'm wrong like the seller insists. Still I'm happy

Nice appearance is all the positive I have for now. Took a long time to assemble (instructions not very detailed) and once it was assembled, it wonโt stay burning. Seems to be something wrong with a sensor or something. Having trouble contacting the manufacturer. Hope they come through since itโs not returnable.

This heater is very impressive and it looks expensive. The heater is very tall and lights up beautifully at night with elegant flames and heats up the nearby area but you need to be very close to really be warm. To be fair, we tried it at night in the middle of the winter in NY so it is very cold to be outside anyway, in a milder night in the 50s-60s the heat will probably be sufficient for a larger area. The fire runs thru the glass tube in the middle of the heater and it illuminates as well as it heats the area which is an added bonus. It comes completely disassembled and took my husband and I about 3 hours to put it together. He is very handy with everything, I would even say he is at a professional level and it was very hard. The instructions are ok but not very clear and the screws come in on the actual piece so you have to unscrew them and screw it back as you assemble the piece. I think it took so long because there are several steps and pieces but I would recommend professional help if you are not handy. The heater has wheels so you can tilt it and carry it around which is great because this heater is enormous, but with the wheels it is relatively easy to move it around. Overall I am happy with this heater.

For the most part I was able to put this heater together myself. There were a couple parts where I really did need my husbands help though! Along with that it is pretty tall so I did need a short ladder at times. This is not a small project. It took my pretty much a whole day on and off while taking care of my baby. Straight through it would still take about 2-3 hours I believe. The main reason I gave this product a 4 star is because all of the screws are already in each piece so you actually have to unscrew them then screw them back into the part it is supposed to connect to. You will need a drill to do so. The drill made it faster but still time consuming. The heater itself looks very nice and well made. Definitely has an "expensive" look to it, which it is kind of pricey. It goes with any outdoor space because of the neutral colors. As far as the heating abilities it does not radiate a bunch of heat very far, but it feels so nice when close to it!
