    • Good value vs. comml Echo models at 2x 3x price, add a 3 ft ext. to the PPF-225 get to ~10 1/2 ft
This model is non-telescoping and the pole section is fairly rigid. We added the Echo #99946400010 3 foot power extension to the PPF-225 to get to ~10 1/2 feet length. Echo equipment is high quality and durable but difficult to acquire at any discounted sale prices. We opted for the PPF-225 and added the 3 foot extension to economically get to ~10 1/2 foot length. The 10 inch chain bar head is a bit lighter than the 12 inch bar, making handling the pole saw a bit easier. We've had good performance from Echo 2-stroke equipment (blowers, chain saws, etc.) over the years. Use a sharp chain, keep the chain/bar oil topped off, and use the specified 50:1 fuel mix, or to be super-safe, 40:1 but you'll get a bit more smoke. We use non-ethanol fuel in our power equipment. ... show more

Couldn’t get the saw to start. Took it to a dealership and parts inside the saw were cracked and some missing. Cost was covered mostly under warranty.
