If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. I do my best to make my reviews honest, real and value-oriented as if I had paid for each item I receive. * These items are not totally free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. I only mention this because we Viners do have some skin in the game for each item we order. Why I ordered this item: I'm pulling the engine out of my old Camaro and my cheap leveler snapped the chain last time I tried to use it. I needed something that could handle the weight without being sketchy about it. Likes: * This thing is built like a tank. The steel is thick and the welds look great. I can tell this isn't going to bend or break when I'm hanging an engine from it. * The ball bearing handle is stupid good. Once you get some weight on it, the handle turns so smooth compared to my old one that would fight you every inch. * Having three different chain positions is super helpful. I was able to get my small block balanced perfectly by using the middle and outer holes. My engine sits level instead of tilting forward like it did with my old leveler. * Assembly took me maybe 20 minutes with basic tools. The instructions were clear and all the bolts went in easy. * The powder coating looks really good. It's thick and even, and I can see this holding up to shop use without getting all rusty. No likes: * The handle extension makes this thing pretty long when you're trying to store it. It takes up more space in my garage than I'd like. * It's heavy as hell. Moving this around the shop by yourself is kind of a pain. Would I pay full price for this product: Yes Final thoughts: The steel frame doesn't flex at all even with my 350 hanging from it. The build quality is way better than the cheap ones and it's worth paying more for something that won't fail when you need it most.

I ordered this because we are replacing two inboard V8 engines in a boat. We have a ceiling-mounted chain hoist to do the heavy lifting. But we also need some control over the angle to wrestle these big engines out and back in a pretty tight space. We pulled the port engine before this item arrived. It was a real pain, and I pinched a few fingers in the process. Using this tool and its angle adjustment made things so much easier and safer. It appears to be built pretty well for the money, and it handled our big-block engines without any complaints. Would buy it again.

I recently installed an mobile A frame hoist in my shop to be able to pull motors/transmissions on Ford F-350's that I am working on. I have an engine leveler that I use on my regular 2 ton engine puller so when this came up, figured it was a good time to get a dedicated one. Pros: Solid construction. Everything works smoothly and there is enough chain to be able to attach to any motor I will come across. These adjusters are very easy to use and do not really require much instruction as you use the hand crank to tilt forward/backward. It makes pulling a motor/trans combo much easier as you can drop the trans all the way to clear the firewall. Cons: None that I have found. Overall: This was a pretty decent value for the money, it is always nice to have the right equipment on hand when you need it.

No grinding gears here—cranking the engine left or right feels effortless thanks to the ball-bearing design. Makes fine-tuning positions way less of a chore compared to cheaper models I’ve wrestled with. Feels like it could survive being dropped off a roof (hopefully won’t test that). Powder coat looks durable, and welds are clean—no flex when loaded with an engine block. Reassuring as heck during heavy lifts! Three mounting holes give decent setup versatility for different balance points, though you *do* need to measure carefully before bolting it down—the handle orientation can lock you into awkward angles if not planned right! Still performs awesome. Great value.

This engine leveler has nice smooth jack screw and bearings. It's solid and well built. Lets you tilt the engine & trans in your favor for easier installation. Way better than pushing down on the trans trying to clear wiring harnesses, firewall, and engine mounts on the way out, or throwing your shoulder into the cherry picker trying to bump it past. VERY well made.

Well made and solid but was missing a set of the chains so it needed some work and materials to be usable. This makes a cherry picker engine hoist easier to use. Not only for lifting/leveling engines when removing and reinstalling but also useful for lifting and positioning other items where the ability to lift, hold, and adjust them is useful. This is one of those tools that you may not use every day but will be very happy you have it when you need it. If it had been complete, I'd have given it 5 stars.
