Description

Are you a portrait, event, or sports photographer seeking a more balanced feel during vertical shooting Or perhaps a landscape photographer looking for extended shooting time The MB-N12 Multi Battery Power Pack with Vertical Grip is your ideal companion for the Nikon Z8 camera. This power pack not only extends your shooting time by 1.8x (according to CIPA standards) compared to using a single battery in the camera alone, but it also adds the convenience of a vertical shutter release button, main and sub-command dials, a multi- selector, Fn button, and an AF-ON button. When attached to the Z8, the MB-N12 allows you to focus on capturing more moments without the worry of battery life. Its ergonomic design ensures a firm and secure grip, even when a long telephoto lens is attached. This makes it an invaluable tool for photographers who need to shoot for extended periods or in remote locations without access to a power outlet. The MB-N12 is powered by two EN-EL15 series batteries (EN- EL15c, EN-EL15b, or EN-EL15a), providing hot swapping versatility of one battery and USB power charging and delivery. This means you can remove one of the two batteries and the power pack will still provide power to the Z8, with no interruption to shooting as long as the remaining battery still has power.Designed with the same dust- and drip-resistance performance as the Z8, the MB-N12 is built to withstand the rigors of professional use. You can even charge the two EN-EL15c bat

  • Excellent product
I tried a cheaper brand, and none of the features worked. This was more money but well worth the difference. All the features worked and was excellent quality.

  • Perfect
As with everything else from Nikon, this grip is great. It fits well and functions perfectly.

  • For the Nikon Z8 for power in almost any situation.
Fits perfectly on the Z8. Expensive but well-made as one would expect from Nikon. You could use it in a 3-battery rotation, 2 in the grip and 1 in the camera. The grip could be attached to a battery bank while carried in a backpack. So, it is a good accessory for meeting power needs in most any situation. Shipping was prompt and the grip was as is in the packaging from the factory. ... show more

  • Disappointing. Disappointing.
I wanted this grip for a number of reasons, so despite the egregious cost for an accessory like this, I took the plunge. For over $400, I knew that I was not keeping this accessory unless it absolutely exceeded expectations. It did not, and overall, it was of lesser quality than I expected from a Nikon made accessory. For the premium price Nikon charges, they need to deliver a premium feeling product, and this isn’t it. I bought this grip because I’m often shooting wildlife and handholding a 600mm lens in vertical mode, and it gets to be tiring at times. So the grip was a no brainer for the ergonomics, but also for the added balance it would bring my setup with an extra long and heavy lens on the end. I have very large hands, and despite that, I hate that this grip is not the same shape, depth, or curvature as the primary grip on my Z8. This grip feels foreign compared to the primary grip and I don’t like it. I expected uniformity, and it’s not here. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable this larger grip is for anyone with smaller hands. It must feel massive. It does add a little bit of balance, but not $400 worth of balance. It adds battery life, obviously, but I’d rather carry an extra battery or two in my back pocket than pay $400. If I’m out in the field shooting for that long, there is a 100% chance I have a bag with me, and that bag has batteries in it. This item is worth $150 as is. If you can get it used for that price, go right ahead. I’d pay $200 because I’m used to paying a premium for my hobbies. But $400 is just stupid for this piece of kit. ... show more

  • Works all the time
Nice to have the extra battery life for my Z8 but would have been better if they made it for the 18's. Or make a seperate connection instead of taking away the in camera battery so it only adds one battery for two instead of 3 of the 15's.

  • significantly increased the lenght of time i can shoot and improved the feel of the body
adding the battery pack makes my z8 feel exactly like a z9 and gives me the ability to capture more images without having to worry about battery life. It also gives me a second shutter release and a better grip. Sure it adds some weight to the camera body but in the end its all worth the added benefit. It was super easy to install, it took about two minutes and its got a solid feel. So basically i got most of a z9 for less money than a z9. ... show more

  • Great addition to the Z8
Great addition to the Z8. Make sure to purchase the additional batteries from the Nikon store in Amazon. I purchased a Nikon battery from another site on Amazon, which performed poorly and would have lost golden hour shots if it weren’t for my son handing me his Anker power bank and saving the day. I used the Anker’s USB-C connector and charged the Nikon battery pack grip and it was smooth sailing. ... show more

  • Fast shipping and it does work with the Z8
Arrived earlier than estimated and in brand new condition. The battery life is truly based on the batteries you will put in it. Value for the money is not great, but if you need a vertical grip and extra power - this is the way to go. For a busy day of shooting you will need a second set of batteries, as Z8 is power-hungry :) ... show more
