Description

Dedicated to the Z8 mirrorless camera, the Nikon MB-N12 is a multi-battery vertical grip that provides both additional power and a more comfortable grip when working in the vertical shooting orientation. Its design incorporates a secondary shutter release, control dials, and a function button for more intuitive shooting control. The MB-N12 can accommodate two EN-EL15-type batteries, which provide around 1.8x longer battery life than the single in- camera battery, and one of the batteries can be hot-swapped for on-the-fly battery switching. A USB-C port is featured, too, for connecting to an external power source, for charging via the EH-7p or EH-8p, or for tethering or connecting the camera to other equipment. Also, batteries can be charged inside the grip even when it's not attached to the camera.

Fits perfectly on the Z8. Expensive but well-made as one would expect from Nikon. You could use it in a 3-battery rotation, 2 in the grip and 1 in the camera. The grip could be attached to a battery bank while carried in a backpack. So, it is a good accessory for meeting power needs in most any situation. Arrived earlier than estimated and in brand new condition. The battery life is truly based on the batteries you will put in it. Value for the money is not great, but if you need a vertical grip and extra power - this is the way to go. For a busy day of shooting you will need a second set of batteries, as Z8 is power-hungry :) ... show more

    • significantly increased the lenght of time i can shoot and improved the feel of the body
adding the battery pack makes my z8 feel exactly like a z9 and gives me the ability to capture more images without having to worry about battery life. It also gives me a second shutter release and a better grip. Sure it adds some weight to the camera body but in the end its all worth the added benefit. Works fine, but Nike missed everything about matching it to the Z8. Poor design, but very functional. not worth the $$$
