  • Built like a tank.
Style: Foldable Size: 3/4 Ton (1,500 lb) Color: BLACK
This stand is rock solid and bullet-proof. Easy to assemble, had all correct hardware, and was such a treat to work on a motor that was held securely and solid. Well worth the cost compared to a lighter duty stand.

  • Perfect for Old Subarus
Style: Normal Size: 3/8 Ton (750 lb) Color: Red
Of you own an old Subaru, (more than 5 years old), you know that engine will need an overhaul. New head gaskets, timing belt, and so on. It's a Subaru thing that many Subaru owners face. This stand makes working on that small, light, highly unreliable engine a breeze. The arms are easily adjustable so you can use some of the factory engine mounting bolts to secure the engine to the stand. Three wheels means it will never rock on and uneven surface, so even you backyard mechanics working on that bumpy cement pad the your grampa poured in 1982 will have steady mount. It rotates easy, which is a huge plus for access to those suby head bolts. The wheels are solid steel which makes it easy to roll around. Pretty red paint closely matches the red paint on your favorite tools from the backyard mechanics favorite store, HF. ... show more

  • Supports a 2JZ
Style: with Tray Size: 5/8 Ton (1,250 lb) Color: Red
When the package came it was damaged as you can see by the photos. Luckily there were no missing or damaged parts when I opened it to inspect. One end of the box practically fell off when I opened it. Assembly went pretty easily but the hardware they supply is pretty low grade. The bolts/nuts are a Grade 5/Class 8.8 which is not a really strong structural fastener. If you really need this thing to support anywhere near the 5/8 Ton (1,250 lbs) rating I would upgrade these to Grade 8/Class 10.9 bolts/nuts. Also they only supply enough washers to go on the nut side when assembling. I prefer to have washers on both the bolt head side and also the nut side when using through bolts so I ended up running to the hardware store to purchase these. The tray that is supplied is useful but it doesnt lock to one side or the other it kind of just pivots and moves around as it pleases. Its also not held on by anything it just sits on a metal pin. As far as this supporting the claimed weight it did support my 2JZGTE long block while I disassembled it. My guess on the long block weight is about 600lbs. It was to heavy for my 750 lbs rated engine stand which is why I purchased this one. It easily supports my engine with little issues. Not sure if I would bolt a motor that weights close to 1,250 lbs on it though. Overall it works and is decent for the price. I will probably change out the casters to locking casters so that it doesnt want to move around when I'm trying to torque or remove bolts. ... show more

  • great quality for a great price.

  • Sturdy
Style: Foldable Size: 3/4 Ton (1,500 lbs) Color: Blue
It is well made, sturdy, I have a diesel engine on it (fully assembled), and it is holding very well. To turn the engine I would recommend an extension for the handle to get more leverage (a long piece of pipe would work)

  • Got the job done, but not something I'd buy again
Style: with Tray Size: 5/8 Ton (1,250 lb) Color: Red
First, I'll explain the application. My dad and I are working on a project car together. We needed to pull the motor to get the car ready for the body shop. This is a Pontiac 400 as a reference. I decided to purchase an engine hoist and this stand. From the ratings on the stand, it should be heafty enough to hold the engine. It seems like it will, but I am still a little skeptical of it. Here are my pros and cons of this stand: Pros: - Easy to assemble: This was very easy to assemble. It went together in about 15 minutes and was ready to use. - Easy to manuever: Without weight on it, I could easily pick it up and move it around. I'm not a big guy by any means, so having something weigh this much for me to be able to move it around the garage and over things is nice. Once the engine was on it, the casters rolled great. It was very easy to get it over to my work bench. - It is holding up the engine Cons: - The locking pin: The locking pin for rotating the engine is a tiny little thing. While it works to hold the engine from rotating, it was laughable at best. It was about 1.5" long and not much thicker than a standard sharpie. Before I even thought about mounting an engine to it, I drilled out the lower part of the stand to allow a long, 3/4" x 4" bolt to pass through. - Sturdiness: This stand seems like it is really trying hard to hold this engine. I think what I have pictured is about the most weight I'd want to put on it. I'd for sure not trust the full weight rating. - Footprint: The width of the feet/legs is about the same distance as the engine hoist that we were using. It took some effort to line everything up. As some help for anyone struggling with this: Remove the engine bracket from the stand, bolt it up to the engine first, and then try to stab the bracket into the stand. You can pick up the stand and push it onto the bracket easier that way. - Unbalanced: My dad and I worked for a while trying to get the engine balanced on the bracket, but the way that the pattern on the engine is and the lack of slots to move the hangers around made it impossible. The plate either needs to be bigger or have more slots to make adjustments. In short, this is holding up the engine and will work for this application, but this is not one that I will use long term or for another engine pull. This would be great for a small engine, or I've seen it used for an outboard stand. For another V8, I'll be buying a better one for sure. ... show more

  • EXPECTATIONS EXCEEDED
Style: Foldable Size: 3/4 Ton (1,500 lbs) Color: Blue
I have had other engine stands in the past and this blue BIG RED AT26801UR Torin may be the best one of the bunch, exceeding my wary expectations. First, the packaging was robust enough to withstand even the roughest shipper. No missing parts - no extra parts. The finish on the stand was quite nice, with no noticeable marks. Assembly was easily straight forward. I barely had to glance at the printed instructions. As someone else pointed out - if you can assemble an engine you can assemble this stand. I was looking for some added stability from this stand and it delivered. The front cross member is wide enough for that extra stability plus the fifth/center wheel really helps. When no engine is attached the folding mechanism is a welcome feature. I got lucky with a 30% discount on the blue unit making it a great value. Unless the unit completely falls apart when I install the first engine - this purchase adds up to a great piece of hardware for my shop. ... show more
