I hope they never stop making this! I have trouble finding the "ash blonde" version of this , so a toner is needed. However, this actually lifts to blonde (40 volume developer). It can be a bit brassy at the roots but a toner or purple hair mask usually fixes that. I do leave it on for longer than is instructed, usually 45 to 60 minutes, but it beats even the hi-lift tints I buy at Sallys. I'm always amazed at how much lift I get from this product! I keep my hair short because I just have never had success (or the patience) with the part and section routine, so my color overlaps, which means there is damage. That's my fault though. It is not damaging as other hi-lift tints I've used. So, I recommend getting a friend to help if you are doing your roots. They also include a nice size tube of lilac colored conditioner, which is nice. I don't like the scent of the Garnier products, they're "fruity" rather than "floral", but I can live with that! ... show more

Color is true to advertised. It is a very good permanent dye! Being a form of red I thought it wouldn’t last long but it does! Vibrant and so pretty! I’ve gotten a lot of compliments. I will be 60 this year and let me tell you, if you want something fun, do it! Hair is something you can loose quickly. Enjoy it. And if you don’t like the color, you can pick something else out later. Don’t be afraid to express yourself. It took me 10 years of wanting to do a fun color before I actually did it.
