My hair got to the exact color I wanted. Since I have a darker base, my hair turned out like reddish purple, which is what I was looking for. Wash your hair with cold water and the color will last longer. Even when the color started fading, it turned a lightish brown, which is also pretty.

I love this color. I get a lot of compliments on it. And on a brown, dark brown hair, you can definitely still see the color. The only downside to me is is that several weeks after the initial dying there is still color rubbing off on my towels or in the shower water, so it just seems to stay in your hair for a long time but other than that it’s a very pretty color almost like a deep purple eggplant color but not as dark .Would’ve given it five stars if it didn’t bleed for so long. ... show more

I was super hesitant at first, but after some research and looking through reviews I decided to try this teal out. Although it’s more blue than I wanted, I still love the color! Definitely more of a blue than a teal on my hair. (I believe because I still had red so the green got canceled out) I’ve used Garnier many many times before, but I usually dye my hair red, and I’ve always loved their color outcomes! You HAVE to remember the color theory, red/orange are on the opposite side of the color wheel from blue/green, meaning that they cancel each other out. SO if you had previous red hair and want to go to this teal like I did, you have to get the red out FIRST or the green shade won’t take (like mine did) or will turn brown (usually). I have the pics from my red color before, what it looked like after I used color remover (it was a little more copper color so I used an ash blue on top to get it to the color in the pic, I actually used L’Oréal Sapphire Smoke to get it lighter and add some blue to cancel out more red) and of course after the teal! This dye contains a hydrogen peroxide developer. I wanted a dark teal or a black with green undertones. I was hoping to find a dye I can use I've over my natural hair without bleach. It did not dye my hair and it made my skin very angry, stripped my hair and my eyes got a little puffy. The ends of my hair did absorb some dye but it's not teal or black, more like navy. I had tried this dye in the indigo shade in 2018 and didn't have this problem so idk if they changed the formula since then. Also the hair mask that comes with it definitely has silicones in it ... show more
