Most of these metal garden hoses have one drawback - the water pressure they emit is on the low side. HOWEVER, they are SO easy to handle and are completely kink-free. I can roll up 100 feet into our outdoor hose container in less than a minute. I love them.

These hoses cannot be surpassed for ease of use where you need to move them around and coil them up frequently. They are incapable of kinking and they are flexible enough that you can coil them on the ground without fighting the twist of plastic and rubber hoses. The inner diameter of the liner is smaller than that of the typical garden hose, so for longer runs you may get a pressure drop and decreased flow rate. These stainless hoses are best used for short runs with spray nozzles or any place where you normally have to fight with plastic hoses when moving them. They are rugged but personally I would avoid driving a car over them as shown in the product description just in case the corrugated housing might get distorted. And be careful when you step on the hose because on hard surfaces it can roll out from under you very easily causing you to take a tumble. The included spray nozzle is lightweight and mostly plastic but it works extremely well with all the patterns. The jet pattern is a little like using a pressure washer. I also like the spray valve that can stay open without having to prop open a spring-loaded trigger button or handle. Time will tell how long they last but these are worth taking care of because they are so easy to use compared to stiff plastic hoses. We tried one and liked it so much we have replaced nearly all of our hoses except for long runs where we need the higher flow rate.

I've never used stainless-steel hoses before so I thought I would try it out because if you're like me then you're constantly replacing your rubber hose every few years. Not only that, they are heavy (mine is 50 feet), a pain in the rear to coil back up and easily kink. When this hose arrived at my doorstep I was actually surprised at how small and light the box was. I thought for sure it was something else and not the hose but, sure enough, it was. Out of the box it's a nice, lightweight stainless steel that was coiled much, much smaller than I could ever get a regular rubber/vinyl garden hose. When I say it is light it is REALLY light. The whole thing - including the box, the hose, the sprayer and the rubber gaskets - only came in at 3 lbs, 2oz! A similar sized 25 ft hose would come in roughly 3x heavier. The hose also comes with a 10-pattern hose nozzle and 4 spare rubber gaskets for a total of 5 including the one already installed in the hose. The hose also has protective rubber coatings on the ends as well to resist the constant bending at the connection. I did an initial test run I can absolutely say this is such a breeze to work with. It is light to move around, moves easy across the surface (cement and grass) and DOES NOT kink at all. With the sprayer on, it functions just like my normal rubber hose and I did not notice any less water pressure with the spray on than I normally get with my rubber hose. I'm also happy to report that the hose did not have any leaks in it either. The only downside to this is the hose itself is smaller in diameter than a regular rubber/vinyl hose. So what this means is that if you're using this to fill a pool, a hot tub or even a small 5 gallon bucket it will take longer. On average, a rubber hose will fill a 5 gallon bucket in about 40-45 seconds where this took almost 65 seconds. Now, I don't have a hot tub or a pool so I don't have to worry about that, but if you do you might want to switch to the wider diameter rubbery/vinyl hose if you have one. With the sprayer on, though, I've noticed no difference in water pressure between my rubber hose and this one. And that is what I simply use this for - watering my garden, grass or flowers. As far as being able to test out its rust resistance and durability through Wisconsin winters only time will tell so I can't attest to any of that at the moment. However, I don't anticipate any problems since it is stainless steel. I'm actually more worried about leaks than I am about rust, though. We'll see. I'll update my review should anything not meet my expectations regarding that. I'm glad I picked this up for now, though, and I am kicking myself for not discovering these stainless-steel hoses earlier. Simply put, it is so much easier to work with and it's literally kink-free. Those two reasons alone are worth the cost.
