I installed this shutoff fuel valve on my John Deere X300. No leaks and it does shutoff the gasoline supply to the carburetor as designed. How long will it work ? I hope a very long time. This should help with springtime startup because the carburetor should be dry which keeps the ethanol from gumming up parts in the carburetor / engine. ( This year I had to completely take the carburetor apart and clean it before I could get my engine to run correctly. This is why I installed the shutoff valve. ) ... show more

Multi-pack of shut-off valves (with hose clamps included) is a good value. These valves are a must-have on gas-operated equipment today. Alcohol in gas will create deposits in carburetors over periods of non-use. These valves allow gas supply to be shut off, keeping carburetor free of deposits. To use, install on gas line between tank and engine (note direction of fuel flow via arrow on valve).
