Due to environmental and usage factors, the ice may be slightly wet. To fix this, shake the basket to remove excess water, place ice in a freezer bag, and freeze for 20-30 mins. Tap the ice lightly after freezing to keep it firm and prevent sticking. We purchased this when we moved to AZ, where ice in drinks is a necessity. We have been using it at least 3x a week for two years now. It is loud as many have noticed, but it fades into the background once you get used to it. We have only run filtered water through it, and it still makes perfect ice (I call it Sonic style ice).     • Great Nugget Ice Maker
We loved this ice maker. We are ice fanatics. We already had a bullet ice maker and it's always a race to the ice machine. We decided to also purchase a nugget ice maker and chose this one. It quickly makes nice nuggets and we were happy. The machine is a little loud, but wasn't intrusive. It worked great until it didn't. It started making a screeching noise. But no worries. We contacted customer service and couldn't have had a better experience. They sent us a postage paid label and we sent it back. They offered a new machine or refund and we wanted a new machine as we really liked the original one. They immediately sent us a new one and it's making great ice.     • Not worth $200, not even close!
This is a third party seller and the seller does not want you to return the unit unless you pay $22 to return it yourself even when it is not working as advertised. This ice maker for $200 does not work as well as a $60 ice maker. The ice melts before you remove it from the unit. It will not make even close to 35lbs of ice in 24 hours as stated as it is almost melting as fast as it is making it. When we removed the basket of ice, water was dripping like crazy. The $60 unit does not melt near as fast. It took 8 minutes for the first piece to fall and then one hour and 20 minutes before we got a couple cups of ice and then when we used the ice in water, it melted instantaneous when it hit the water. The pictures shown on the advertisement are false advertising as you can't see the ice in the water for more that a few seconds. There is no way you can get 3 cups at the same time. This is a great unit if you want to drink cool water. Not recommended for families as it is too slow to make enough ice. ... show more

Makes excellent ice. Not necessarily quiet but as these go it's not the loudest I've ever had. Overall capacity is kind of small but okay if it's just two glasses of ice needed at a time. Update: I purchased this June 2024. It is now May 2026 . I have done regular cleanings w/vinegar cycles every few months. It is now making a loud squealing noise. Regular cleanings w/vinegar, cleaning out the motor with an air compressor, and even oiling it. It's now beyond repair and will have to be replaced. So durability = 2 years ... show more

I made a batch and cut it off. Clean it and refill when I need more. I put a container with the ice in it in the freezer to get ice when I need it. Only negative would be don’t let you ice sit long in the compartment. It starts melting.

    • How Did I Live Without This?
The ice maker on my refrigerator has been broken for a couple years now. One day, I got tired of making ice cubes manually and searched for a countertop solution. This one came with great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I’m hooked! Things I love about it: - compact and stylish. It fits nicely on my counter beside the fridge and the stainless steel exterior blends in with my other appliances - ease of cleaning. The built in cleaning cycle and drain port make cleaning this unit easy and quick. - speed and quantity of ice. Amazing! The first cubes are made in a matter of minutes and the ice container will fill up in about an hour. I pack any excess ice up in a freezer bag and store. This way I only run the run the unit about 2-3 time a week and have 3 1-gallon zip bags standing by in the freezer. Pro Tip: there have been a lot of complaints about freezing the ice. It does make fairly wet ice. I shake the ice basket well to remove as much water as possible before transferring the ice into a freezer bag. Then about 20-30 mins after sticking it in the freezer, I take it out and smack it on the counter a few times. The ice stays nice and separated this way. ... show more

    • Great for 5 months then kaput
I loved this thing! I’m a kindergarten teacher and I bought it to keep in my class for bumps and bruises on my students and for my Diet Coke obsession. It was wonderful for five months and then it was awful! It made a grinding noise, got hot and refused to produce ice. The company got back to me quickly and told me steps that should have fixed it. I did them, but it did not fix it at all and the company adheres to Amazon’s return policy timeline. I did give them three stars instead of one because they offered me a 30% refund. I thought that was really nice, but I’m really upset about the icemaker because it was amazing. I’m going to get another, but I will not get this one again ... show more

    • Worked great at first, but turns out it was all a fake out.
So, we have owned the unit for just over a year, and have been mostly happy with it. It creates a fairly decent amount of ice in a short period of time, and my family loved the size and consistency of the ice it created. Recently though, the unit has begun to randomly make a loud, screeching noise. The closest I can relate to it is when a car or engine has a loose belt. For a short while we go unplug the unit, plug it back in, and it would act normally. But as time has gone on, the loud screeching noise is becoming more and more frequent, and unplugging it has not worked. So, I returned to this page to see if there were any trouble shooting steps I could take, or more hopefully contact the seller, and perhaps diagnose the issue, and maybe order parts to fix the unit. Alas, I find now that every ice maker offered from this company is no longer available. And there are no longer any contact details. The very hard to navigate to support page for the product, leads you to a website that doesnt exist anymore. I'm left feeling that I spent good money on a product that wasnt supposed to last very long, that was sold by a company over a short period of time, with no intention of standing by the integrity of the product or promises of quality made by said seller. Sad to say, this is something I come across more and more on Amazon. Buyer beware, this company has probably just changed its name, and is now offering potentially fault equipment under a new brand name. What a shame. ... show more
