I bought this to replace a towel bar that my father in law pulled off the wall. This thing is perfect. It spans from one stud to another perfectly. It is extremely solid so he can hold on to it to get in and out of the tub. It is also quite nice looking.

This safety bar has more style than the bars that are curved at both ends and look like they came straight out of a nursing home. I purchased the polished stainless so it would better match the other fixtures in our master bathroom. The price is higher than some cheap looking bars but significantly less than other name brand bars. The quality is excellent. The metal is thick and not flimsy. The brackets are very substantial and the screws provided are long and high quality. There is only one problem and that’s with the placement of the pre drilled holes in the base mounting bracket. Remember, a wall stud is only 1 1/2” thick despite being called a 2x4. I mounted the bar vertically and was very precise with my stud finder marking the center and each edge. The issue is that once I drilled and installed a screw in the exact center of the stud the remaining pre drilled holes are off the stud. If you drill “straight” through any of those holes you miss the stud entirely. I’m sure you don’t want a single screw in each end of the grabber bar. So I needed to drill the others at an angle slanting the screw in toward the stud. It worked fine and the bar is very sturdy & stable. I would buy it again despite the hole placement issue which the manufacturer should address. All that said, you can’t go wrong with this attractive safety bar. ... show more

Over all great grab bar. Looks much better than those brushed stainless curved end ones you see in the public setting. Chome is not exactly chrome. Has a bit of a yellow tint to it as you can see in the picture. Polished nickel maybe? Lost a star. I added a shower handle holder. Why not just get a shower holder bar set you ask? Because those won't support you weight from experience. A grab bar is thicker, stronger and has substantialy better anchor points. You will probably need longer screws than the 2.5" ones supplied if going into a stud through tile, quickset, backer... BTW, stud finder didn't work through the tile. Lucky I took some photos during the remodel. Don't forget to seal the holes with something if installing this in a bath. ... show more

My wife needed a bathroom grab bar where the towel bar was. This did the trick and now it serves as a towel bar that can hold up her weight plus a lot more. I purchased this bar specifically because its length was correct for the stud spacing in the bathroom. I installed it into studs which is necessary to hold up a person's weight. Hire someone to install if you are not a DIY'er with tools and experience. ... show more
