The end product looks great and has been working well. A larger deflector at the top might have helped because you have to be pretty close to it to feel the warmth. A more heavy-duty cover would have been appreciated, since I'm not sure the one that came with it would provide much protection in a heavy snow. The real problem I had with it were the instructions. I've put together a number of items in the last several years, including chairs and furniture, but this was the most difficult to follow, for several reasons. The directions were so small that I needed a magnifying glass the whole time. The parts are not labeled, which would have been helpful, and the part numbers are very hard to see in the booklet. Most importantly, the "Important Note" should have come at the beginning of each section, not at the end. Because of that, I had to undo what I had done and start all over again in the first section. This seems to be a very well-made patio heater, it is constructed of a superior quality aluminum, puts out very good heat as well. The instructions were well done, and it was easy to assemble. It took in all, about 90 minutes to put it together by myself and light it. One of the nice features about this patio heater that differentiates it from others is that it includes metal bracket feet that will help it from tipping over in winding conditions. This heater works well. Easy to light and adjust heat level. The construction directions could have been a little bit clearer. Once I figured out which parts went where it was fairly easy to construct. When comparing to my previous patio heater, this one doesn’t throw heat as far, likely due to the smaller roof plate. I needed a heater for my back patio to enjoy the evenings out when I got cold. I ordered this one in particular because of its sleekness and I thought it would provide a great amount of heat over my patio area. When the heater arrived, I assembled it in my home. It was very easy to assemble. I like the design of the heater and that a cover was included. Once completed I had no idea it was going to be as tall as it was. I was a little nervous and didn’t think I could transport it outside without dissembling it but I was able to and it appeared to be about 7-8ft (I did not look at the dimensions before buying it). It can fit on my deck (see picture) and also looks nice on my lower patio because there's more space; however, we can’t really feel the heat unless we are standing next to it. Turning up the propane emits more heat but my wife still needs to be next to the heater to actually feel the heat. She gets very cold. I think because it is so tall the heat is at the top of the heater as opposed to the bottom which is where you are sitting. I also think that maybe having one heater isn’t enough for the amount of heat we both want to feel on those chilly nights. ... show more

    • Great to look at but…
So the heater is enjoyable to look at, and a great entertainment piece, but it doesn’t put off near the heat a typical tree heater will. Possibly because the reflector is small. I am not sure.

    • Functional for heat, but beautiful to look at

We had a similar one prior to this, but it got tipped over and it broke. This model has stabilizers at the bottom that should prevent that from happening again. Anxious to use this once cooler weather sets in. Great for parties. Our friends loved it.

I blocked out tree ours of my day to assemble this thing based on all the reviews about how hard this was to put together. It took me 1 hour while watching college football in the garage. I had some of it assembled before I found the instructions. Honestly with the instructions my teen daughter could have done it in under two hours. Don't be afraid. As for the unit itself... Its made of the same material you would expect at this price point. It fires up easily. The heat output is actually a little better than what I had expected but still not wicked hot (I have big heaters if I want lots of heat). I bought it because the look of this thing lit at night is pretty bad a**. Sitting in the hot tub with the flame of this heater being the only light other than the stars is pretty epic. I plan on buying another to put on my other deck. ... show more

This was not easy to put together. The holes were not big enough for the screws and it wasn’t easy to line up. I would return this due to having to be on top of it to feel the heat but I don’t want to take it apart. I’m going to sell it on FB Market Place.
