Description

Style:Bio-Foam+ | Size:107/207 Fluval bio-foam combines mechanical and biological filtration. Its porous structure increases surface area for the growth of helpful nitrifying bacteria. In addition, it traps small particles that are not retained by the first stage of foam filtration. The numerous grooves in the bio-foam maximize the surface area for beneficial bacterial colonization. The fluval 106/206 bio-foam includes 1 bio-foam piece that fits into the bottom basket of fluval canister filters 104, 105, 106, 204, 205, 206.

  • Great!
Style: Quick-Clear Size: 107/207
I bought these on the hope that they would fit the newer 206 canister filter. I actually received the newer box of these that states they ARE compatible with the 206, so I think the picture hasn't been updated in a while. I've attached a picture to help future buyers.

  • Perfect solution for most filters.
Style: Bio-Foam+ Size: 107/207
Works great... I am actually cutting in half and trimming for use in a Marineland Penguin 100 filter. Lasts quite some time, plus 2 dollars for 4 changes. My set up... Marineland Penguin 100 with foam insert at bottom left of pump inlet. Bioballs on top of inlet. Filter Media (cut to fit,) above both. Carbon bag on top of that. Flow rate and filtration is significantly better with this set up than using marineland filters, (also a lot cheaper and less maintenance.) ... show more

  • Rip off
Style: Quick-Clear Size: 107/207
They are just little sponges. I thought they would be a more heavy duty material to put in my filter but they are no different than the roll of spongy material I buy. Could not believe all the beautiful packaging to house 5 cents worth of sponge.

  • Highly recommend!
Style: Quick-Clear Size: 107/207
I love these, they provide a fabulous filtration in addition to regular and keep the water in my turtle tank cleaner for DAYS longer than without. Very satisfactory pricing!

  • Refund please
Style: Quick-Clear Size: 107/207
Item had put small little white pieces floating at the top of my tank, I rinsed them for 5 mins before using and it didn't polish it trashed my water. I thought maybe it just the one pad so I tried an new one. Same crap. I removed then from the filters and ended up having to do a 50% water change because of it. My cichlids were stressed out with the white particles and then the water change ... show more

  • Save your money, use quilt batting. See review for instructions.
Style: Quick-Clear Size: 107/207
These water polishing pads don't accomplish anything that a $5 roll of quilt batting doesn't do (well...except that the Fluval are pre-cut to size), and you can make about 30-50 filters/pads this size out of one roll of batting. The nature of this type of filter is that it traps fine particles, so they get clogged very easily. If you want to keep crystal clear water you would go through 1-2 of these pads per week. One roll of quilt batting has lasted me several months. To make the filter keep the batting folded so that it is four layers thick and just cut to the size of your filter basket. You could use as many or as few layers as you wanted. I have seen that others use the stuffing from pillows but I don't recommend that, the individual fibers are more likely to come apart and could travel through the pump and end up in your tank. You don't want your fish to eat this stuff. I ordered these just to see if I was missing out on any great benefits and nope, I'm going back to incredibly cheap quilt batting. ... show more

  • they were fine as a temporary fix
Style: Bio-Foam Size: 107/207
From the description, I thought the two sponges would each be the size of the measurements given. They totaled the measurements when together. I was able to make them fit my Fluval over-the-back filter with a little bit of work. I bought them out of desperation and though the pores of the sponge were actually too large to filter out any small particulate matter, they were fine as a temporary fix, and not too expensive. ... show more

  • Quality filter media
Style: Quick-Clear Size: 107/207
Use in my fluval 406. Occasionally use these if I have them during a changeout. Not as important to me as other media. I’m sure helps with my maintenance of water quality but seem to fill up, dirty quickly. Either way it’s an easy extra just to make sure my water is where it’s supposed to be.
