This is my first Samsonite luggage bag and my first hardside clam shell case. The design is elegant and the Emerald Green is a beautiful color. The expandable part is a great feature cause it does allow for a lot more luggage. The USB battery bank is a great idea and the case seems pretty resistant to scratches. The wheels seem to be an upgrade compare to other models of a similar price. The size is a little smaller then 22x14x9, it is more like 21x13x9 and expands up to 21x13x11 COMPARED TO SOFTSIDE: From the exterior is looks much smaller than a typical softside, but fits just as much. The clam shell design makes it more difficult to really pack this thing tight, you have to fill both sides separately and then fold it together. There is a possibility that there is a void between the two halves or it doesn't shut from over packing, but this is the case for all hard side luggage. Also when opened it just takes up a lot more floor space, especially if you in a small space The reason for a four star review is that there is some play on the telescopic handler like other reviewers have mentioned, I am going to try to see if I can modify it. Also the wheels are really fluid and nice, but I have a feeling they might not be that durable, if you squeeze the wheels together there is some give. There is also no TSA lock built-in like the previous model. As of now, I would recommend and I am buying a second one in navy. Only time will tell regarding durability. My daughter uses this luggage as a figure skate sport equipment bad. She keeps two pairs of ice skates and all of the things she needs at the rink in this bag. She is fifteen and loads it in and out of a car and into an ice rink between 8 to 10 times a week. She is not careful with it. It is thrown around like any normal sports bag. This is the only bag she has had that has lasted more than 6 months. Other than the paint she has scrapped from my car onto the bag this bag looks new. I've now used this luggage on about 10 trips, domestic and international both carry-on and checked luggage. It's has held up really well, no scratches, dents, tears and the color is distinctive enough to pick it easily out of a carrousel of bags.
