Overall a great light. I love that you can fully control the colors with the RGB light adjustments and the weather settings are really cool, but the lightning modes are just a little aggressive. Two issues that I’ve had: 1. The 6 preset color buttons are very misleading. I assumed they would give a similar color to what was on the button, but the white balance within the presets is so high that they end up just being different shades of white. 2. The little remote receiver that comes with the light is weaker than I anticipated. I placed it on the back of my 55 gallon tank assuming I would be able to control it while standing in front. Not sure if it’s due to the size of the tank or the fact that the tank has a solid, non-glass back, but I ended up having to basically stand behind the tank for the remote to work. Plus, the receiver connects using a 3M sticky back so now that it’s been placed, there is no easy, non-messy way to move it. ... show more

This light will grow low light plants if you combine the blue and red led settings. It’s bright and looks good on my fish too. But the price was a bit high for my taste. I have had it in use for several months now, and it can support guppy grass, frogbit, and moss. If you have frogbit, you need about 4-5 inches of space between the water surface and the light, or the brightness will melt them pretty quickly. I run my light strip for 6 hours a day. ... show more

This light works wonderfully for my new 55g aquarium. It's very low profile, provides plenty of light, and i really like the variety of color blends it's capable of making. I do wish it was programmable, but for the price point you just can't expect that. Overall a superb lighting solution for all but the most high end marine tanks. ... show more

The light unit itself is sweet, all works as it should. The remote, however, is temperamental at best. the buttons are also confusing, and non responsive. some are touchy, and others need to be pressed harder at weird angles. A proper remote would give this product five stars.

I thought of sending it back at first because of its lack of being able to program the on/off function to a timer. However, after I turned it on and saw how it lights up my aquarium, I quickly changed my mind. My plants were dying before I started using this light, now they are thriving! When I received this item, I found that it was missing the part of the cord that plugs into the wall. The package had been previously opened, and then taped shut (poorly). When I checked on the Fluval site, it appears that they are no longer manufacturing aquarium lights, so it may be that this is just old stock. It looked like a nice piece of equipment, but there was no way to get it to function. ... show more

I love these aquasky lights! They come with many lighting options and a remote. I don't use any of that, but it works perfect on a timer. It keeps the last setting before it was turned off.
